Labor Day picnic food! My sister is gluten intolerant so this made a nice side dish to bring to a family picnic. I've had this recipe for years with one small change -- I use peanuts instead of sunflower seeds. The peanuts are added at that last minute to keep them as crunchy as possible. My sister loved it. :)
I had a bag of broccoli slaw and remembered this recipe. I served it right away and it still had a good flavor. The sunflower seeds add a great crunch and the peas make it stand out in appearance from regular cole slaw. I served these with Tuna Burgers (DiScharf) and my teenaged son ate both without complaint. Very good salad! The dressing has a great flavor. I used Splenda and left out the onions. The peas and sunflower seeds work very well with the coleslaw. Perfect for a BBQ or a potluck.
Excellent! I have made this at least 3 times with a few additions, added sliced almonds on top of each serving. Another time I added dry Chinese noodles on top. The sunflower seeds are key to this recipe. It is a keeper! Thanks for posting!
I just loved this ! It took very little time to do , was sooo easy and , very pretty to look at too !!! My slaw mix had carrots in it so , with the green peas , orange carrots and , black poppy seeds this was just lovely !!! It was so good , just the right tang !! Not too sweet and not too sour !Perfect !
