This was really quite good, though too salty! I would definitely make this recipe again, but would omit the soy sauce for sure. It really doesn't need it. I used a package of Smart Ground - the original flavor. And Lousiana hot sauce instead of bottled chili sauce. It was quite spicy and really yummy on toasted buns. We indulged and ate the excess 'slop' with chips! I loved the addition of avocado too, and would have never thought to add it! Very yummy even the next day! Thanks!

We LOVED this recipe. I made some changes. I made it in the crock pot, just threw it all in together and let it cook for a good 6 hours or so. I couldn't find soy crumbles to I used textured veggie protein. I added some worcestershire sauce, some red kidney beans, some mustard seeds and a can of chopped tomatoes. I used onion poweder instead of chopped onion, since I'm not an onion fan. This stuff smelled divine in the cooker and we couldnt' wait to eat it. Such a wonderful texture and it tasted amazing! We served it on buns with some cheese, sliced avacado and sour cream on top. It was so indulgent. A real comfort food, and became an instant family favourite. My husband is not a vegetarian, he loves his meat. But he adored this, and has requested I make it frequently. It's one of his fav meals now, and he says he doesn't miss the meat in it at all. Thank you for sharing this recipe! I love it.
