Great recipe!! I am new to using TVP and wanted something simple! This definitely fit the bill and was DELICIOUS!!!! I added onion that I sauteed with garlic before reconstituting the TVP. I also used a recipe for taco seasoning (taco-seasoning-66591) rather than a purchased mix. Delicious! Both of my kids loved them!! And did I say they were super quick?? Definitely a keeper!! Thanks again!!

Tasty! I used my own taco seasonings and added some tomato sauce to make it wetter and to look more like a taco filling. Hubbie suggested that next time we add some chopped, toasted walnuts.

I'm a regular meat eater, but I'm trying to eat better so I tried this TVP. I think next time I will cut down the two cups of TVP down to 1.5 and I might add some of those spices other reviewers mentioned, and an onion to help build up the taste. I tried to feed the Tacos to my family, but they saw the TVP and refused, I'll try again to fake them out. Thanks for the recipe.

I've been trying to find new ways of using TVP and I'm glad I came across this recipe. It is indeed quick and easy and pretty good as taco meat. I used the leftovers and made an egg scramble and that was pretty good too. Thanks for posting this quick meal.

Great fast, simple one pot recipe! Thank you! I modified mine a bit, adding diced onion, nutritinal yeast flakes, and using a bef boullion concentrate instead of the soy sauce. I didn't have taco seasoning, but I used the ingredients from a taco seasoning recipe on recipezaar but with more cayenne because I like it spicy. A bit of cheddar to top it on the tortilla, and it's a taco. Guess I'll just write up the modification so I can remember it, lol! 1/2 cup water, tvp was enough to fill 2 10" torts generously.

I have to make my own Salsa as its hard to find where I live (Ireland) but this still takes NO TIME to make! Our fussy 8 year old daughter eats the TVP without a word of complaint - she usually sniffs it out at 10 paces! As I have a 5 kilo sack this recipe is a god send! Thank you. On occasion I have not been able to get Taco seasoning - so I just used cumin, coriander and chilli powder instead - worked great! We serve this with homemade goat milk yoghurt and crispy lettuce from the garden.
