"Irish Steel Cut oatmeal is what I use in this recipe not the quick cooking You can use what oatmeal you enjoy just adjust the water to oatmeal ratio. This is super healthy, very low fat, no sodium, and cholesterol free. Important not to overcook so you get that nice nutty flavour with a slightly chewy texture.
In the U.S.A., new dietary guidelines..."

"My mother used to make these on Halloween for the trick-or-treaters (back when people didn't automatically throw out anything not factory-sealed) and the word would spread and kids would come to our house from all over to get them. She made some one year for a Christmas charity bazaar and they were such a hit, the next year they asked her to make..."

"I heard an interview on NPR with Dorie Greenspan, the author of a cookbook called "Around My French Table." The author describes this as a great dish that far surpasses the description or list of ingredients. She also says there are a million variation -- use rice instead of bread, add nuts, apples, spinach, etc. The recipe I'm posting..."

Update 2/13/2013: Finally got around to trying these cupcakes and made several changes after the first 2..."

"These are great for halloween parties! We gave them out one year to neighbors and it was so much fun to see their reaction. If you want a twist, make a shorter version and call them Gobblins toes. Just make them shorter and use plain almonds for the toe nails. Sprinkle with dried rosemary "toe hair" and it's complete!"

"from Her Sports magazine. I ran out of rolled oats, so I used 1 cup rolled and 2 cups quick oats. Also substituted pumpkin spice mix for all the other spices and fresh pumpkin puree for canned pumpkin. I added only --1/2 cup raisins and added --1/4 cup chocolate chips. These came out a tad dry (as there is no fat in them) so adding a little oil..."

"These are nice bars that are a little different from the regular crispy treats. I like the nutty flavor and all the different textures in them. You could very easily frost them with some melted chocolate chips too."
