"I put this recipe together a couple of years ago for someone who was desperate to find a recipe for these Filipino pastries. I had only a commercial ingredient list, but these turned out well, like cheesecake-like muffins or cupcakes. I can't be 100% certain if they are exactly like the Filipino versions, but they are delicious in any case. --Sue"

"Mamon is my FAVORITE Filipino dessert (or one of them ^^*). The thing that differentiates mamon from American sponge cake is because its a little more sweeter and buttery. Mamon is a very soft and creamy cake. :]"

"This is my wife's favorite cake. It is a very decadent three layered uspide-downcake. She was craving some so she asked me to make it; I found a (pretty vague) recipe and tried to figure out all the missing parts. She said it tasted great how Imade it, so I'm posting it here in hopes of saving someone the agony I suffered trying to figure out..."
