"This recipe came from Southern Italy around the 1900's. This is a very nice and thick sauce not running all over the plate. If it's not thick, you didn't cook it long enough. It's great on all dishes that uses spaghetti sauce.I always make at least 1/1/2 gallons of this sauce at a time.It freezes very well in containers. I use containers..."

"This recipe originated from a hunting camp in Demopolis, Alabama....a true southern small town. Gumbo seems to be a common thing to serve at Christmas or on Christmas Eve in the south.....we didn't do so at my house growing up, but my ex-husband's family always had gumbo at Christmas."

"This is a wonderful soup and great comfort food on a cold night. It's just the thing for a cold too! Here in Portugal we really like our chicken soup with rice ("canja") but this is a very tasty and colorful variation I often enjoy.
The quantities are all aproximations: add or reduce to your liking. :)"
