"This simple candy shows up at all of my family gatherings .This recipe is quick and easy. The saltines may sound like a strange addition to something sweet, but I have never known anyone who made this recipe just once!"

"I make about 30 varieties of cookies and candies during the holidays and these are the most requested. They are fairly easy and delicious. I serve them on a tray in miniature muffin liners. I have tried many different buckeye recipes, but this one, given to me years ago, is the best one I have used. ADDED 12/17/06: Instead of chips and paraffin wax,..."

"This makes a wonderful treat to serve at the holidays or to bring as a gift. I use the non-stick foil for this but a piece of buttered parchment paper lined in the pan will work fine also --- servings is only estimated, really it should be only one serving I could eat the whole thing myself, these are very addicting :)"

"This recipe contains no potatoes. It gets it name from the look of the candy. I have not tried this recipe myself. It is for an ISO request. Recipe says you can also dip in melted chocolate for Easter eggs."

"This "brittle" is great because it doesn't get so hard that your teeth break trying to bite it! It's super easy to make. It's light, crunchy and sweet. You could use different nuts in it, but I like the cashews best. I triple the batch because it goes fast!"

"Paraffin wax (Gulf Wax) is a food-grade, indigestible wax used commonly in the past to seal jams/jellies. These days, it's used to help chocolate to be easily handled. If you'd prefer not to use that ingredient, substitute chocolate-flavored bark (confectioner's candy coating) for the chocolate/wax mixture."
