Serve with gravy, drizzled with lemon juice or -as my children like -drizzled with tomato sauce/ketchup. You can also used all-purpose seasoning herb and spice mix if you wish. You can add peeled carrots, turnips, onions -basically any veges of your choice.

    Recipe #278844

An economical meal for a family. Crock Pot/slow cookers are a winner in the heat of summer and great to put dinner on before going to work in the mornings. Who could beat a hearty casserole in winter either? You can use whatever veges that you have at hand. Use a gluten-free flour and stock if making this recipe gluten-free. Serve with toast, pasta or rice. I remember my mother making this casserole when I was a child. To make a richer gravy substitute 1 cup of red wine for 1 cup of stock. This is a great rustic dish- no need to be to accurate with your measurements or weights

    Recipe #484666

This is a very simple roasted chicken dish. Roast chicken is always a family favourite. Contains no flours so it is gluten free. The lemon flavour infuses as the chicken roasts and keeps the chicken beautifully moist. Can use 1 large chicken, as suggested, or use 2 smaller chickens. Photo of two smaller chickens totalling just over 2 kilos (1 lemon to stuff each chicken). Adjust cooking time if using different sized chickens

    Recipe #219720

Good old-fashioned baked apples. A great winter dessert and also gluten free. This recipe makes 6 baked apples. You can substitute different fruit and nut combinations, eg sultanas and sliced almonds. These are extremely hot when removed from the oven I usually allow them to sit for about 10 minutes. Any extra apples can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the microwave.

    Recipe #237045

This is a great old-fashioned dessert. It just melts in your mouth and is to die for. A winner in our home. You can substitute lemons for limes in this recipe. The pudding is a beautiful lime custard bottom with a light cake topping. Use gluten-free or regular wheat flour.

    Recipe #218338

This recipe is from the box of "white Wings' Cornflour. Its a simple recipe - just 5 minutes from start to finish! For a gluten free version-please ensure the cornflour used is labelled as gluten free. Currently White Wings Cornflour is GF in Australia

    Recipe #218517

These are so easy to rubbing in of the butter...just melt and mix! Serve with the traditional strawberry jam and butter ...or how about trying them with honey or golden syrup. Makes 8-10 scones These are not a gluten free scone. I usually double the recipe to make scones

    Recipe #224043

I was looking for a mashed potato recipe on Zaar and couldn't find one. So here it is. We have mashed potatoes with casserole, stew or just as a side. Also being gluten-free I often use a gluten free pastry for the base of a pie and just top it with mash. You can use any quantity of potatoes, butter and milk/cream to your preferences.

    Recipe #230695

A great scone recipe using gluten free flour and lemonade. Use a good flour blend- the better the mix the better the scones. Also do not overmix as it will make a heavy scone (what my Dad calls a "doorstopper" ). This is an Australian recipe and uses bubbley lemonade soda/soft drink- not the traditional lemonade made on real lemons and sugar. I use "Orgran" brand flour for this recipe. After the first review on this recipe, I have made the scones again. The oven temperature is correct and the recipe worked fine. I have posted some photos now. Similar recipes on this site also use the same oven temperature. I have recently had the temperature on my oven tested and corrected. The temperature stated in this recipe is correct. You could use a lower temp and cook for longer. The quick cooking gives a firm outer layer and a beautiful soft steamy centre- perfect straight from the oven

    Recipe #221956

Posting this cake for those who are looking for a cake that is gluten, dairy, egg and nut free. For allergies or food intolerances be sure to read all product labelling and be sure to buy flours that are suitable. This recipe uses a ready mixed gluten-free flour blend that has added gums for baking qualities. If you use a blend that does not have any added gums or gluten-free stabiliser then add in one teaspoon of xantahan or guar gum with the flour. I use ORGRAN brand flour and this is from one of their magazines. Orgran is gluten, dairy, nut, egg free and is vegan diet suitable. As stated - use a general purpose BLENDED gluten-free flour blend for this recipe---this recipe has not been developed for use with coconut flour or almond meal.

    Recipe #309848

Beautiful slow cooked corned meat. Put it on in the morning and it's ready by dinner time when you arrive home. This recipe actually came with my Sunbeam Slowcooker/ Crockpot and my family really loved it. It was so tender and moist
