Good for a winter's night - from the Super Food Ideas magazine. This soup can be served as is or partially blended. It does thicken up on sitting. I actually thickened mine up with a little cornflour as I prefer a thick soup.

From African Kitchen :South Africa. Preferably spatchcock a baby chicken or small sprig chicken by laying it on its back, breast side up. Cut through this side only so that chicken can be opened out .

A Potjie is a South African Stew type meal cooked in a large three legged pot over coals. It is often cooked as port of a social gathering in much the same way as BBQs are. These are awesome to have while camping too. Instructions for cooking in a crockpot are included.

    Recipe #456359

This is such a fabulous way to do eggplant! I like it as is, with a rice pilaf on the side, but it would also be a great accompaniment to a roast or grilled meats.

    Recipe #84685

    Recipe #456503

I've made this soup for company and it is always a hit.

    Recipe #224713

This recipe comes from Classic International Recipes. This dish is popular in Ethiopia, and is used to scoop up stews, or "wat". The recipe information states that it is similar in taste to buttermilk pancakes, but thin, like crepes. Traditionally, injera is formed into a large circle. I posted this to serve with my Recipe #455567 Doro Wat.

    Recipe #455607

This is an African (Mozambique) curry that can be done with chicken, shrimp, or crab. Goes well with tomato chutney and onion hot sauce. For shrimp or crab, use 1 pound." I found it on another site while researching recipes for ZWT 2011 the African tour.

    Recipe #455721

This recipe is from the cooking show Best Recipes Ever - which I love because the hostess Kary provides some really great and useful tips about cooking and ingredients as she goes along. Plus she has realy beautiful bowls and platters - I love bowls. Yummy dishes too. This dish is great with Indian Raita - recipe #397633 and some naan

    Recipe #454935

This soup is wonderful on any day, but especially on a fall day having carved the pumpkin for Halloween. The ginger and curry flavour work well with the pumpkin.

    Recipe #383687

From Marcus Samuelsson - this awesome dip is super easy and a nice change up. Do not make it in a blender as the sesame seeds will turn into paste - best in a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder. Try it with olive oil to dip in bread or pita or with chicken.
