I got the recipe from Canadian Living and it is a really nice rice with a subtle flavour. If you want more flavour you could add green salsa or hot peppers. The rice is meant to be served as a side to those dishes you don't want to have overpowered by the side. Quick and simple.

Not yer average "okay, serve me for breakfast" coffeecake, this one screams: "Darhling, you simply MUST serve me as I am bursting with delicious flavors!" Calorie counters and carb-busters should cut smaller pieces--everyone else may have a normal-sized slice! Makes a very nice family-sized 'cake loaded with crunchy sweetness. Serve with a plate of fried eggs, fruit slices and milk, tea or coffee. Adapted from *Midwest Living* December 2006.

Keep the heat out of the kitchen this summer! These pepper grilled scallops taste fantastic! Toss them on to a bed of salad greens and veggies and you have a nice light summer dish! They are surprisingly easy to make. Simply, throw some peppercorns on the grill -- and you will have interesting new aromas to sample. Revised recipe from Andrea Viestad's Food for Summer. Adjusted cooking time per recent review.

From Taste Book site. Posting for ZWT6. Timings based on slow cooker but could be fixed in oven-suggest you use a meat thermometer as pork is so easy to over cook and turn out dry. Am wondering if a pork shoulder would be better cut of meat for oven approach? But not the slow cooker b/c a pork shoulder is an odd shape the the higher part probably would not done at the same time as the bottom section. About the crock pot timing, I would refer to what had worked for me in the past.

I love havarti (and bacon and turkey!) and this is an excellent sandwich. If you can't find havarti, muenster can be substituted. I also use the precooked bacon, heated up in the microwave according to package directions. The sandwich can be made ahead. Chilling time is not included in the prep or cook time. The recipe is adapted from a magazine.

A standard on our holiday table, either Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve. You don't have to buy smoked salmon - you can make your own gravlax. This version is very delicious. Count on refrigerating the gravlax with the spices and dill for 3-4 days before serving. Of Scandinavian origin.

The mixture of Yoghurt and Honey is delightful. Of all my bread recipes, this is the family favorite. Note: some folks think the rolls are a little sweet, some have suggested cutting the honey back by half.

This seemingly simple relish is used on many foods in Denmark. An interesting variation add chopped, cooked cauliflower. Excellent with seafood, sandwiches, meats, or as a garnish. prep & and mixing is 20 minutes

Swedish meatballs must be the most famous "export" recipe from this fascinating country. I like to think that these are a little bit different, and more authentic than most recipes you see. This is REAL Swedish home cooking at its best - and if you can manage to get hold of Lingonberries, you will notice a wonderful & very subtle difference; however, cranberries will do just as well. These meatballs are perfect served with piles of mashed potatoes or broad ribbon pasta.
