An easy, but fancy looking :-) appetizer that will impress. Can be made ahead. Use as finger food or serve as a 1st course during a dinner party. Can be served hot or cold. I like flank steak because the slices tend to be longer and are easier to work with. Aside from flank steak being my favourite steak...
Amazing flavour and the butter is not missed at all. Quite easy dish, don't let the long list of ingredients scare you off, it goes fast once you are at it, bring out all the spices in one go.Serve with rice and pappadums
A fantastic show stopper! The flavours are incredible and the dish is easier to put together than it reads. I actually cannot take much credit as it is one of my husband's signature dishes. He prepares the beef on the BBQ in a large stock pot; I am the sous chef on this one preparing the salad ;). You can prepare the salad in advance as well as the dressing. Add as much of the fresh herbs as you like. From the local paper. Great recipe if you are trying to reduce carbs. Recipe calories are lower than listed (only 500 per serving) as rice and brown sugar are not consumed but just used for the smoking
This dish has an amazing and surprising flavour worthy of a dinner party. The turkey breast needs to marinated for up to 24 hours, however, I have also marinated for 6 hours with good results. The flavour becomes more pronounced the longer you marinate.
This is anothe recipe from Australian Women's Weekly - Easy Thai Style Cookery. A beautiful dish with lots of flavours and crunch. We like extra curry and the below curry recipe is doubled from the original. Prep time does not include extra time needed to prepare curry
If you are looking for a rib recipe that is not your regular BBQ sauce kind of thing - look no further. The original recipe is called Vietnamese Style Barbequed Ribs from the 'Cocktail Chef'. My husband has made this recipe many times and it never fails to bring in rave reviews. The flavours are asian inspired and wonderful. The marinade can be frozen and re-used a 2nd time; the 2nd use gets a spicier note. Our kids (9 & 7) love the recipe, so it is also kid friendly and not too spicy even when using chilies. You need to prepare in advance as a long marinating time is required (24-48 hours). Don't look to closely at the calorie count as the marinade packs a lot of calories that are not consumed
I love dumplings/pot stickers and these are seriously good. From Canadian LCBO's Food and Drink Magazine. I am sure that these would work with chicken or turkey instead of pork. You can freeze these dumplings for an easy plan-ahead appetizer / snack / dinner. Serve with Recipe #397489.
This recipe is another winner from Toronto Star - we made it tonight and just loved it. A fun way to have the kids eat their lettuce, too. Beef needs to marinate 2-12 hours, so plan ahead when making this meal
