Homemade ice cream without an ice cream maker. Sophisticated and not too sweet. Nice as a tea float (in cooled tea of the same flavor you used to make the ice cream) or as ice cream sandwiches on shortbread cookies or just straight out of the bowl. Recipe can easily be halved if you don't have much freezer space. Cook time is freezing time.

    Recipe #164240

Posted for ZWT II. I haven't tried this yet, but I plan to. I don't remember exactly where this came from, I just know I found it in my email. This needs to chill overnight, so plan ahead.

Another recipe I'm posting for safekeeping from a cooking magazine I picked up. I think this would make a lovely summer dinner salad.

    Recipe #171459

My version of the Riscky's BBQ Original. They offer them as an appetizer but I can make a meal of it. While the real thing is best, one serving equals my total monthly fat allotment. I skinnied it down by sauteeing the onions & peppers rather than dropping them in the deep fryer as they do. I also prefer to oven bake fresh cut potatoes. We like them to put the quick back in our step so I pepper heavily. Fork required!

I thought this sounded like a wonderful way to grill steak and also a great way to use garden herbs. This recipe can be adapted to how many steaks you have or how many you need to serve. This has to marinate in refrigerator overnight (not included in prep time), so plan ahead. Recipe source: The Artist in the Kitchen

This is a recipe I adopted from the Recipezaar account. UPDATE May 30, 2006: This is great! The mint flavour somewhat dissipates but it is still lurking in there! As it was hot in my kitchen, the chocolate mixture never got to room temperature. Therefore, mine never really "set up" properly. So I froze it. That worked beautifully! It was like a fudgsicle in a pie shell. It was somewhat difficult to cut but it wasn't impossible. I look forward to making this again and again. It was a great treat on an unbearably hot day! Plus, it is nice to know that I have a special sweet treat hiding in my freezer just waiting for me! (Chilling time is not included)

From a 1970's Sunset cookbook, this dessert would be the perfect finish to a romantic candlelight dinner. The ingredients listed makes 2 servings, but can easily be doubled or even tripled if you're serving it to guests.

Fondue is a great fall and winter meal. Warms you up right down to your toes! I love it after a walk in the woods on those chilly, fall days! I do mine in my little crock pot before I leave and then it is piping hot when I get back.

This is a diabetic pie recipe that my Mom gave to me this past year since my husband is diabetic. This pie makes its own crust, so there is no crust to make.

These are wonderful! I serve these as dessert, but they could be served as an appetizer or side dish. Just wonderful! From Bobby Flay.

Apple, Bologna and Cheese! I love a good bologna and cheese sandwich. I also love apples with cheese. So the other day, I put them together.

This is my favorite cold noodle salad! I loved it so much, we made mass quantities for my wedding. There are some similar recipes out there, but after testing over and over, here is the combination that I think works best. I kept the recipe vegetarian, but I usually add cooked bay shrimp. You can add any kind of meat or veggies!! You can also omit or add more of the cayenne depending on your "spicy tolerance"! You can certainly substitute spaghetti for the Soba noodles, but Soba noodles really work best.
