These cupcakes are based on a Greek cake made with yogurt called yiaourtopita, which translates into yogurt pie but is basically a syrupy yogurt cake. This version is lighter; has fewer eggs and does not contain butter. From the blog olivetomato
Submitted for ZWT 9 Greece. This is from the Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery. This recipe was written before people were too concerned about their cholesterol - I would cut back on the amount of butter : )
In Greek Lithy, means a heavy, deep state of forgetfulness.
With this drink, Lithy is meant to work as "a magic potion to help you untangle your mind, forgive and forget the dark side of the past, then move forward to a new beginning."
This Greek sauce has a potato as the unusual base. I haven't tried this yet, I found the recipe in an old cookbook I've had for years, & thought it would be a perfect submission for the ZWT4 - let's hope it's a good one!
