This is from Libbie's Little Black Book. I haven't tried these yet but her other cookies are great. The bottom 1/2 of the ingredients list is the filling recipe starting with the sugar. Thanks Heather for helping with these.
From Libby's newspaper clippings. I haven't tried these yet. They used a compressed cake of yeast and I'm guessing on the flour amount. The old recipes never gave flour amounts. Drat them. 1 tablespoon of salt seems a lot to me; I would cut back on that I think.
From Goldie again at Hope Lodge. I hope I spelled the Hungarian name of the recipe right; it was in little print. She says roll thick. Again, help from anyone on these would be GREATLY loved since I have never done Hungarian cooking before. Just learning Czech for my sweetie Rudy and this seemed very close, and poppyseed is his favorite.
Secrets of Hungarian Cooking. Boy I was really hoping someone on zaar had already posted this beast, but of course, if they have I couldn't find it. It looks like it was made a lot. If anyone knows something about these bad boys, please feel free to add input. There are 4 filling recipes so if you're wanting those, here they are.
