Add some holiday flavor to an everyday breakfast.

    Recipe #404356

Simple and delicious comfort food. This came from a Kraft cookbook, Best Ever Holiday Recipe Collection. Beautiful cookbook and full of great recipes, lots of popular name brand recipes. This appears to be a recipe full of possibilities, as far as options go. Soy milk instead of regular milk, brown rice instead of white, Splenda instead of sugar, are some of the changes I am considering. I think adding some raisins would be good, too. I think this tastes best, chilled. My son is not a vegetable eater. This is one way to get a vegetable into him, along with some vitamin A.

Making for my friends for the holidays...

    Recipe #273209

This was always a family affair to make these cookies, mom would get all the ingredients together, dad would stir the dough by hand when it got too hard to mix, and I had the fun job of cutting up the gumdrops.

These are delicious little treats similar to jalapeno poppers that are easy to whip up. Made healthier by adding vegetables and baking them. Directions for (alternatively) frying them are listed also. You can omit the hot sauce to make these mild if you like.

Chocolate lovers, this one's for you! Mmmm..... A chocolate cake made jelly roll fashion, with yummy chocolate cheesecake filling and covered with a delicious mocha frosting. You could even use Nutella in place of the melted chocolate chips or for the frosting. Yum! Dress this log up with maraschino cherries and Recipe #273965 for a Yule Log Cake during the holidays or for a scout or camping theme, try Chef #182010's Recipe #79403.

The perfect milkshake for the holidays. The candy cane ornament served in the glass truly compliments the green-colored sugar, chocolate sprinkles, and red cherry over the whipped cream for a dazzling effect. I had visions of lovebirds while I created this treat which is a combination chocolate chip mint/Cookies-n-cream milkshake (but for a title, was way too long, lol). Feel free to use low-fat/fat-free ingredients as this is definitely not dieter friendly (although it's great to enjoy before you begin your resolutions in the coming year). Amounts are adjustable to your liking.

This recipe (which tastes like Kool-Aid) adds an 'optional' twist of placing a treat in the ice cubes. Use Amaretto and peppermint for Christmas, blackberry brandy and candy corn for Halloween, peach schnapps and marachino cherry for Thanksgiving, and frozen blueberries and honeydew cubes for an American celebration. You can reduce the servings (to 8 ounces per glass) to individual drinks and serve them as cocktails for a smaller gathering. :)

A simple recipe using cookie dough and jam, yet eye-catching elegant at your buffet table. You will need a small 3/4" cookie cutter with a simple design. You can also make your own sugar cookies or slice the pre-made ones thicker, then roll them out with a rolling pin to make larger cookies. :)

This is a German Christmas Cookie made by my girlfriend's "Ohma".

    Recipe #329556

This recipe is from an OLD betty crocker cookbook and is my absolute favorite Christmas cookie. My MIL sends a batch every year and is one of my favorite things of the season. DO NOT overbake these or they will become so hard that you might need to have dental work done (lol) If the cookies are too hard she suggests placing them in an airtight container with an apple slice. I did not include chilling time in the recipe.

    Recipe #327145

I got this recipe from my local newspaper. I am not sure how many this makes as I use a giant cookie cutter.

    Recipe #301715

This is a variation on a recipe I found in Taste of Home. This is a family favorite I make at Christmas time. It gets me in the holiday spirit every time! This is the cookie I usually make for cookie exchanges as well. On a side note - to make these extra fancy - dip 1/2 of each cookie in melted chocolate.

    Recipe #287211

This is a great dessert for the fall time of year. It looks especially nice done in a glass fluted bowl or a footed raised one. It's very light in taste but also has a certain richness. Yummy!! Feel free to use regular instant butterscotch pudding in place of the SF.
