Posted from a website co-op this stew is plainly simple, so feel free to add any other veggies that you may desire. It is great served over mashed potatoes, noodles or rice along side some crusty bread.
By marinading and then grilling the chicken and the veggies, this dish has a wonderful grilled flavor served over pasta, its a filling meal. It is also great served cold. Make sure to not cut the veggies too thin so they dont slip thru the grill grates. I have also done this inside on the foreman type grill.
I saw this on a local news station as an Olympic Dessert special saluting Italy, but wanted to wait until I made it before posting. Very quick and easy and extremely good with or without the Ricotta cream. Makes a colorful presentation!!!
I just found this recipe and thought I’d post it for the Zaar World Tour to Italy. They sound awesome and I can’t wait to get them in the oven. I have no idea where to get candied angelica so that may be a challenge, but I think I will use candied lemon peel pieces
These cookies are deep fried knots, traditionally flavored with vin santo, a sherry like Italian wine, served hot, dusted with powdered sugar, especially at Italian carnival time. From The Ultimate Cookie Book and posted for Zaar World Tour to Italy. Prep time includes chilling time.
Pizzelle iron is needed to make these cookies, but they are so good that I would recommend buying one! From my friend Dianne's aunt, these are heavenly. Prep time does not include overnite chilling, and cook time is a guesstimate as everyones iron cooks differently. You may have to experiment with a few cookies before you get the hang of it.
Growing up in a community known as "Little Italy," this was always a staple at any party, especially when the men got together to play cards! For sure this is an artery blocker, a heart attack waiting to hit, BUT if you like garlic and anchovies, but all means take the risk!
Very interesting type of "roast". Originally came from a cookbook from northern Wisconsin where Al Capone used to hang out. Otherwise I have no idea how the name came about, but its a great meal, even for a gangster!
