    Running Creek Barbecue Sauce
    Handle

This recipe was developed by my Father and Aunt in the late 60's for Dad's restaurant. Dad had people coming from surrounding counties to get his Barbecue Beef Sandwiches. Mix it with shredded beef or pork. Add it to your favorite baked bean recipe for a truly fantastic flavor. Any left over sauce can be frozen.

This came out of Ohio Magazine. It is from the Cap City Diner in Gahanna, Ohio. It is a fairly sweet sauce, so feel free to cut back on the brown sugar some if desired. Posted on: Oct 11, 2005

I got this recipe from my friend Jeff years ago-this is the original recipe for the fantastic sauce on the ribs at the Famous Montgomery Inn Resaurant, Cincinnati OH., Jeff used to use 1/2 of the chili powder and add 2 t. red pepper, for his own personal taste.

Barbecue Sauce - Thick and Spicy
    Handle
    7 Reviews |  By Chipfo

Oh man, are ya'll in for a treat! :) This barbecue sauce is thick, semi-sweet and spicy. Not really hot spicy (just a little). If you are sensitive to spicy hot then omit the red pepper. This is pretty thick but can be thinned with additional broth or even beer. This is my signature sauce I made in my BBQ stand and it was a real hit, it took me around 6 months of trial and error to perfect it. I could have kept it a secret, but why. If you like really sweet and mild then this is not for you. This is a sauce you can use for mopping (basting) or as a dipping sauce or for sandwiches. Now.....Quit drooling and get to cookin!

Try this on baby back ribs or grilled chicken. The beer in it gives a great flavor- reminds me of my dad's cooking. His favorite thing to Q was always pork steaks, but I think that was a St. Louis tradition. He always preferred shoulder blade steaks over sliced pork butt, but my mom differed with him on that opinion. I liked it either way.

    Hakuna Matata All-African Barbecue Sauce!

    5 Reviews |  By Zurie

This is equally good for red meats and poultry. The quantities given are flexible, but I suggest staying more or less with these ingredients and tasting! Yes, we like our spices, and yes, it's spicy, tangy and tasty!! Pour into a glass jar with a screwtop -- lasts forever in the fridge! Don't salt your meat before grilling; there is salt in this sauce. Baste meat with a brush as you grill it and when you turn it over. Can be used as a marinade for red meats like steaks. "Hakuna Matata" means "No Problem!" in Swahili ...

On the recipe that I have, this marinade is used with New York Strip Steaks. They are marinated for 2 days and are turned once after the first day of marinating. Then salt and peppered and grilled. You can also reserve some of the marinade to serve over your steak.

Fantastic Korean-Style Marinade for Beef Pork or Chicken

There should be enough marinade for about 2-1/2 pounds of beef or chicken you may double the marinade ingredients but keep the fresh garlic and green onion at the same amount --- the meat needs to come down to almost room temperature before grilling so plan well ahead, also there is a marinating time of 8-24 hours, you may omit the cayenne completely if desired or adjust to suit heat level.

Mansion on Turtle Creek Mop Sauce
    Handle

When Chef Dean Fearing was Executive Chef at the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas he showed this recipe on a local television show. This sauce can be used as a BBQ mop sauce but the one he showed that I used was pan searing Beef Filets in this sauce just until desired doneness. I did make a couple of adjustments. The original recipes called for 1 cup malt vinegar which you will see I tweaked. Also, instead of the thyme I used parsley and added grated garlic to taste. This is truly wonderful but you must use Shiner Bock beer. I thought I lost this recipe and it is no longer posted. Just found it and putting it here for safe keeping.

    Family Friendly Ww Barbecue Sauce
    Handle

This sauce is so versatile, it meets all my family's taste. It is a recipe that I got from the Weight Watchers Favorite Recipes. Made as written, it is 1/2 fat exchange and 30 optional calories(58 calories and 2 g fat) for two tablespoons of the sauce. This was a book that was out before the point system, but it is 1 point for both 1 or 2 servings of the sauce in the point system. Two of us like a zesty sauce with a little heat and the other two like more heat in their sauce. I make the sauce and then remove half of it to one bowl for the milder tastes and add more red pepper or red pepper sauce(hot sauce) to the rest. I triple the amounts of this recipe for our family.
