These are recipes Westin will eat, He is my 14 year old son who means the whole world to me. If there are sugar in the recipes I replace it with Splenda. If there is a recipe here, this means I make it a lot and usually double the recipe.
Like a Dutch baby or german pancake baked in the oven in an iron skillet. Topped with fruit and powdered sugar or brown sugar. I found this recipe in the newspaper 25 years ago and make it often, my family loves it. I put it under the broiler to brown on top, this is the best part.
I wanted something different for a cookout. This is so good, if you're having company, you'd better fix two. It's butterflied, so it increases marinated flavor and shortens grilling time. Everyone I fixed this for has asked for the recipe. I marinate in the morning to have ready for dinner.
I serve this every year for Christmas brunch, Easy and good. After I make it I put it in the crockpot on low on the buffet and its always a big hit. I usually double the recipe ( I sometimes double the recipe and still use only 1/2 lb. sausage).
This is a recipe that I adopted from a sweet chef by the name of CBW. A real doll. "I always plan a crock pot meal for Sunday afternoon so that it's all ready after church, and I wanted something different than the chicken we usually end up with. This was a big hit!"
I searched and finally found this recipe on the internet. It is a copycat of the Bourbon Chicken sold in Chinese carry-outs in my hometown. This recipe is so good that my sons gobble it up leaving me just a spoonful. Their excuse was they thought I had eaten. Editor's Note: Named Bourbon Chicken because it was supposedly created by a Chinese cook who worked in a restaurant on Bourbon Street.
I first learned to like this soup at a Chinese restaurant called Nong Chin's in Marion Illinois. I had to try my hand at copying it, as I love it--this is the result. AND these people DO NOT give out their recipes.
This is not a fabulous recipe, the goal here is to get beans and carrots in my child. My son is diabetic and I am always trying to get him to eat healthy. This is his favorite chili, Only he doesn't like beans or carrots! I think its a full course meal when served with a big glass of milk. Most carbs are from the beans. I blend the carrots and beans up in the blender with tomato juice, he will never know.
