A want-to-try recipe from Best of Country Cooking. Prep/cook times include chilling time.

Recipe #299369

In Southern California, we eat ice cream all year round. This is a good one.

Recipe #157338

From Best of Country Cooking. When I get around to making this, I will probably substitute coconut extract for some - if not all - of the vanilla.

Recipe #299364

A want-to-try recipe from Quick Cooking.

Recipe #299420

Adapted from Quick Cooking Magazine. This is a good recipe when you need a very quick-to-fix meal on the table. I have made it with the chicken broth option, as I didn't have white wine the night I made it (I don't drink, so unless I buy wine for a recipe - it's not something I have readily available in the pantry). I used shrimp and with the chicken broth, I thought it was a bit bland and added 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (rounded), 1/4 tsp. onion powder (rounded), and 1/2 cup parmesan cheese to make it more to our liking. I also used evaporated fat free milk instead of the heavy cream to make it lighter and more healthy. If you use the wine, you may not need these extra additions. The magazine also suggests using broccoli or asparagus in place of the artichike hearts, if desired.

Recipe #299363

One of the many recipes pulled from my Granny's good ol' country cookbooks! I've been making this since I got married (in 1995). I recently misplaced it (obviously found it now) and tried in vain to find the recipe elsewhere. I tried several different recipes and none came close to this one. Could be sentimentality, but I think it's the best one out there! I often substitute some unsweetened applesauce for some of the shortening and whole grain flour for all purpose, but for the best pound cake texture and, if it's for a treat - go all out and make it as written! If it lasts long enough, the flavor gets better with each day that passes. I have tried in the past to wrap it and let it sit for a few days, but with my houseful of hungry little beggars, that rarely happens. As soon as they smell it baking, they're waiting with hands outstretched....

Recipe #277708

My Granny's banana pudding - the only one that's worth me spending the calories on! As the recipe title suggests, I won't touch the kind made with instant banana pudding - and don't give me anything with meringue on it, either...this doesn't last much more than a day around here. Chilling time is not included in time estimates.

Recipe #277686

Another of my childhood favorites I often found waiting for me at Granny's house. It's cool, creamy chocolaty....need I say more? **Note** The recipe does not specify size of Cool Whip. I buy the largest one.

Recipe #277709

From Quick Cooking (now called Simple & Delicious). A tasty combination of chocolate, coffee and cinnamon.

Recipe #276649

Originally from Taste of Home, I changed the ingredients just a bit to suit our tastes and the result has become my most used biscuit recipe. They bake up so tender, light and fluffy! I brush the tops with butter before AND after baking. My favorite way to eat them is to split them open, spread with butter and drizzle with honey....

Recipe #273399

When I need to fix a quick meal, I frequently turn to this well-loved dish that takes only a few minutes to cook. I've also used chicken instead of shrimp with delicious results.

Recipe #272733

From Light & Tasty. A creamy, healthy and quick one-dish meal. I think I use a little more lemon pepper seasoning when I make it, but have not noted it on the recipe, so adjust according to taste. Alson tastes great with a little white wine added to the sauce - maybe 1/2 cup chicken broth plus 1/2 cup white wine....or is good as-is - whatever you prefer.:)

Recipe #276254

From Taste of Home. A zippy chowder with Southwestern flair to warm you up on a cold winter's day!

Recipe #275209

Another recipe I've had since my Newlywed days. Slightly sweet, these little muffins are always welcome at the table.

Recipe #272180

Adapted from Taste of Home. We love Chocolate chip cookies around here, so I am always making a different recipe. These cookies loaded with goodies and a soft mocha flavor are very popular. I substitute freshly ground whole grain flour for part of the all-purpose. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you substitute store-bought wheat flour for the all-purpose, you do not need to add the additional amount of flour - just use the same amount as all-purpose.

Recipe #274149

From Quick Cooking (now called Simple & Delicious). These biscuits taste like the ones I love at Red Lobster. Shredded cheddar cheese adds nice color, and a tasty butter mixture brushed on top of these drop biscuits provides a burst of garlic flavor.
