A refreshing take on cranberry sauce. From my sister-in law.

    Recipe #426912

I saw flax seed at the grocery and bought it without any idea of what to do with it. I found out that flax seed contributes fiber and omega-3s to the diet. Even better, it made this delightful, speckled loaf with a nutty flavor. Wonderful as is or toasted.

    Recipe #143230

My family just calls them Aunt Kimmie's Pretzels! These are so good--no need to go to the mall just head for the kitchen!

    Recipe #45567

I've made this cake several times, most recently for my MIL's birthday. It was adored. It looks like it takes much longer than it does to assemble, although I did make the cake layers and curd a day in advance so that the day of assembly would be less stressful and time consuming. This is impressive and beautiful. IHHDRO

Yah, well, for Superbowl Sunday, I just had to, lol. This fabulous salad is just too good to be true. Cooking time is zero unless you cook your own garbanzo beans.

    Recipe #179943

Salty and lemony and low-cal and very good for you! From the December 2007 issue of Cottage Living. Prettiest with red and white cabbage, but you could use one or the other as I've noticed that "small" heads of cabbage are hard to find. One medium head of either cabbage will work too. You might want to let the flavors mix in the fridge overnight, but the recipe didn't call for it:D Really great for a picnic!

A fabulous way of adding a bit of colour along with a crisp texture in Chinese cooking; this can be made just before you are ready to serve an Oriental meal, and is one of the nicest ways I know of dressing up the humble radish! You can use red radishes, Chinese white radish - Mooli or even black radishes for this quick pickle. Serve it as an accompaniment for most Chinese or Asian meals. Make sure that whatever type of radishes you use, are fresh, firm and crisp. I prefer the red radishes for colour, but any of the radishes I have suggested work well in this simple pickle. The quantities listed below, will serve about 4 people as a generous condiment.

I got this recipe from Cooking Light and it is fabulous. Since it is meant for lighter fare, I tried the fat-free feta (recipe didn't call for fat-free version) and it did ruin the taste, so I recommend using regular feta. The recipe calls for bottled minced garlic and a pickled pepperoncini pepper, for some reason I couldn't add that to the ingredient list, so please keep that in mind when gathering your ingredients. I hope you enjoy.

This was posted in 6/2010's Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I'm in perpetual search for different things to make with my grandkids. The very name tickled them to death. A great summertime drink. Note: To make a version using alcohol just add 1/2 cup white rum. In the South a june bug is what we call an adorable pesky child...so apropos.

Gleaned from the Today's Kitchen Cookbook, recipes from the Today show. This is from Katie Couric.

    Recipe #398514

Empress chicken was my favorite thing to order at the local chinese restaurant. They switched over to "fast food" chinese, and this dish got lost in the translation! I found this recipe online, and it's very close to my beloved dish! Great over rice. NOTE: The amount of cornstarch has been adjusted based upon reviewers' comments.

a yummy better homes & gardens recipe. Perfect for the 4th of July.

    Recipe #379772

In Germany this bread would be called black bread (schwartzbrot). The recipe comes from KLM Airlines. I clipped it out of the paper many years ago. It's really easy to make and very healthy.
