I have been making this for about 15 years now and never get tired of it. It is good for just about any occasion from graduations to super bowl parties to office parties. Seems to be one of the first to go.
This recipe comes from Peg Bracken's I Hate To Cook Book and is different from other swiss potato recipes here. She says it's best to make more of these than you need since they are good fried the next day.
This recipe was adapted from The Joy of Cooking (my bible). Very good. They are a bit runny with the use of so much cream and/or milk so you might reduce it if that is not what you are looking for. Delicious.
This a savory side dish that goes well with pork, chicken or lamb. My family enjoys the wonderful flavors of the onions and mushrooms combined with the creamy texture of the orzo. It's a variation of a recipe from Roy Finamore's "Tasty".
Exactly as the title says, these are cooked in a muffin or Yorkshire pudding tin! They are a brilliant way to use up leftover potatoes & are so good that it's worth baking or boiling up some potatoes specially!! I use these all the time in our Chambres d'Hotes - it's easy to work out the portions and they freeze beautifully. There is also NO burnt mess in your gratin dishes! That's not to say I never make traditional Gratin Dauphinoise, because I do - but these are a great standby, use up leftover potatoes and look very elegant when served!
I make this every year as part of our Thanksgiving menu and everyone really enjoys it. I don't remember where the recipe came from, but I do know if I didn't make it for Thanksgiving my sister would hate me forever! Hope you enjoy this family tradition as much as we do!
Calling all cooks who can and freeze their own corn!!!!! this is a recipe i came up with after not finding anything i liked. it is a great pot luck meal it makes a full 9x13 pan (i mean full!) it uses both frozen and canned corn
This type of dish is popular all over Eastern Europe where mushrooms are one of their favorite vegetables. Sometimes this is served as a side dish and other times you can spoon it over bread or I like it over baked potatoes.
This is one of my family's all time favorite mushroom recipes, you can double the recipe, I have left the garlic as optional if you are a garlic lover I suggest to add in and you may adjust the amount to taste --- you will love this! :)
Recipe from Eating Well. States, "If you like spinach-cheese pie, try these simple but elegant-looking little spinach cakes." I can't wait to try them! They suggest using them as a light, vegetarian lunch. This will serve 4 as a main dish (2 per person) or 8 if you are just serving 1 to each person as a side dish.
