Getting ready for the holidays with vegetarian dishes. They are all vegetarian, but not neccessarily healthy as I enjoy some feasting during the holidays. Though, some of these dishes are healthy or vegan and still very yummy.
I find it totally amazing, that children and men ALL LOVE THIS RECIPE! As for the Female of our species we just love this for the flavor and the health benefits it brings our families.
Roasted brings out a wonderful sweetness in this dish. The Garlic is roasted to a tan color is creamy good. You can just pop them in your mouth. Or you can spread them on your florets or fresh bread. Just be sure to scoop up some of the rosemary, olive oil and black pepper that may have escaped to the bottom of the dish.
For Halloween check out Recipe #396674 version of my recipe.
Here's a Crock-Pot stuffing recipe I found in the Calgary Herald and thought I'd share it. I'm going to use it for Christmas with the vegetable stock for my vegetarian so I will add my comments after Christmas.
A great vegetarian comfort food that also makes a great holiday dish. This recipe is a favorite among many that have discovered the deliciously tasting Worthington FriChik. You can also use real chicken, mayonnaise, milk and even add some cheese if you're not vegetarian. Before becoming vegetarian I made a casserole very similar to this one regularly. I got this recipe from a good friend that got it from another friend's cookbook. Worthington FriChik has egg white in the ingredients and there is cream in the mushroom soup, so its not vegan. I've been trying to use as little dairy as possible so I use soy milk and vegenaise (the yummiest soy mayonnaise).
Good vegan holiday or potluck dish. My favorite recipe from my friends the Farley's. I would always request this dish when we would get together and I'm so happy to have the recipe! Always got rave reviews at potlucks we'd attend when my friends brought this dish. Enjoy!
I lost my Bread Dressing recipe but a friend of mine makes this one and I'm excited to see how it turns out. From the Best of Silver Hills cookbook. Sounds delicious! Update: We made this for Thanksgiving and it was nice and moist and very flavorful. Everyone was digging into it! I baked it for 20 minutes then covered it with tinfoil and baked it 20 more minutes to keep it moist.
Getting ready for the holidays with some delicious vegan dishes that even my meat loving friends and family will enjoy! :) From one of my favorite cookbooks, "The Best of Silver Hills, Delicious Vegetarian Cuisine."
This is a great alternative to meatloaf or burgers. You may need to play with the volume of bread crumb/oat/wheat germ to get desired consistency for forming into burgers. Only thing to remember is this timely to make from dried beans.
It tastes great and I am not vegetarian.
High in fiber and protein, low in fat, easy and really yummy! I've always thought meatloaf looks and smells so delicious and savory so, as a vegetarian, I decided to make a no-meat version! This is basically our favorite meatloaf recipe but with cooked mashed lentils instead of ground meat. The result is a very tasty dinner!
Yummy, healthy, vegan squash. :) I'm getting ready for the holidays! Trying to find tasty yet healthy recipes, so I'll be able to maintain my good health even during the holiday season. From "The Best of Silver Hills Delicious Vegetarian Cuisine" cookbook.
