This works as a great side dish for any curry.

Our family favorite Rotkohl dish, in the traditional German style (with a few flourishes)! Delicious!! Red cabbage, apples, aromatic spices and wine---this dish is sure to please! Wonderful served with holiday roast turkey, beef, or ham dishes -or- with bratwurst, weisswurst or wienerwurst sausages. Tip: For a delicious & traditional European feast serve the Rotkohl with German Meatballs recipe #106298, Beef Rouladen recipe #344842, Bavarian Sauerbraten recipe #409947, Wiener Schnitzel recipe #459188, or Swedish Meatballs, along with boiled new potatoes or buttered spaetzle noodles sprinkled with fresh snipped parsley. A great make-ahead dish that freezes & reheats beautifully, and actually tastes best after flavors have had a chance to marry (a day or two after cooking). I like to make two batches at a time, one for now and one to freeze for future meals. I hope you enjoy as much as we do. As my mother made it, with adaptations from the book "Aquavit and the New Scandinavian Cuisine" by James Beard Award-Winning Chef Marcus Samuelsson.

A very light dish for summer.

This is a Bulgarian classic and my boyfriend’s all-time favorite. He keeps asking me to make it at least once a week. It makes 2-3 servings as a main course and 3-4 as a side dish and I suppose cooking time can be considerably lowered if you use a fryer. I had trouble categorizing it as a Course, and I finally decided to put it under Salads as here it is often sold as a ready-made salad. But if you have better ideas feel free to request a change in category.

This is a simple Bulgarian recipe and nice when served with grilled meats. If you want you can spice it up by adding some hot sauce to the yogurt. It is difficult to give the right amount of yogurt, it will depend on the size of zucchini. Cooling time not included.

    Recipe #87272

This makes a huge frittata, so make certain to make this in a large skillet!

    Recipe #166246

A basic Zucchini Slice, but very adapable and quite flavoursome. To vary the dish, try adding diced Chorizo sausage.

Found this in the local newspaper while on my lunch break today, and I can't wait to get home and try it. I am posting it rather than cutting up the newspaper. Sounds quick and easy...just how I like it :-)

Tired of cheese sauce? Try this quick sauce for a change. MAY 2008: EDITED to add the small amount of sugar the reviewers suggested -- thank you both! This recipe only makes a small amount of sauce, for a small to medium head of broccoli (I usually break mine into florets), so double the recipe for more sauce.

    Recipe #115862

An Indian dish that is not only tasty but colorful. Turmeric gives it a bright yellow color. Goes well with fried meat, green salad and bread.

    Recipe #126319

This is a simple way to serve cauliflower that dresses it up quite a bit. Very, very delicious!

A Dean Ornish recipe. Colorful, vegan, very complete nutritionally, and zero cholesterol. For more color and variety, you can add cubed cooked butternut squash or carrots. May be used as a main dish or side dish; serving amount depends upon how it is used.
