A nice side dish for poultry. I made a change in the rice/broth ratio, and cooking method on recommendation of some of the reviewers, and after trying it myself again. This changed the servings to 4 instead of 2. Thanks to all reviewers for your input!

    Recipe #203770

I got this from the Barefoot Contessa Cookbook. SO good.

    Recipe #56103

This is what we used to make when I was on the Slimming World plan. They are Sin free on a Green day. Quantity of potatoes and serving size is subjective, just make however much you would normally for the amount of people you are cooking for.

    Recipe #186143

This is from a Good Housekeeping book called Healthy Eating...very easy to make

    Recipe #203270

If you can't get the Baharat Spice Blend, you can use half and half cumin and cayenne pepper. They are good hot or cold.

i received this in my email and it looks like a great condiment for people watching their sugar intake.

    Recipe #90673

From Bon Appetit 2005. Comforting and delicious! For presentation, garnish each soup serving with a whole star anise if desired.

    Recipe #144929

Easy to prepare--spicy but not too hot. It is a great accompaniment from anything from buffets to barbecues.

    Recipe #176179

These are not popovers and have nothing to do with bread. These are very quick snacks that you can whip up during commercial breaks when you are watching TV and you feel like something cheesy. Vary the taste with different types of cheeses.

This is a great tasting relish that I make every year when I have ripe tomatoes from the garden. I got this recipe from my sister-in-law many years ago. It is a favorite in her house and a favorite with my family as well.

    Recipe #121116

This is a delicious soup with a truly different taste and texture from any other soups I have eaten or made. It is nutritious and healthy for day-to-day eating and is also ideal for dinner parties. Be ready to be asked for the recipe! It reheats well, including in the microwave, and makes a great lunch to take to work. It also freezes well, so it's worth making a large quantity when you make it, so that you have some to freeze. Like most soup recipes it is easy to modify to suit your personal preferences. I first came across the basic recipe in two different Murdoch Books publications: Entertaining: Quick Short Recipes and Bowl Food: the new comfort food for people on the move. The first time I made it, the fresh pears at the greengrocers were not yet ripe and I was impatient to try the recipe! So I used canned pears (minus the pear juice, some of which I drank while making the soup). Because the soup was so delicious using the canned pears, I have continued to use them each time I have made this soup. As a garlic lover, I have so far refrained from adding garlic but with winter approaching - for those of us who are down under - I intend to add some next time I make this soup.

Is it a vegetable side dish or is it corn bread? This recipe comes from The New American Diet Cookbook and is credited to having originated in eastern Oregon. It is deliciously different and goes well with stews, bean soup or chili.

    Recipe #147678

    Really easy and really good.

    Recipe #37022

The launch of Weight Watchers Core Program is quickly inspiring recipes that use neither sugar nor flour. These tasty cakes can be served at breakfast or to accompany an entree. I made them with Recipe #64718 and got raves.

I just saw this being made on the Barefoot Contessa on FoodTV and think it will be something special. Why don't you try it with me?

    Recipe #81983

This IS a WONDERFUL SOUP. And look at the list, just a few ingredients! I came up with lots of GREAT ideas for the contest, but when I asked my friends what they liked best, they always mentioned this humble soup! How funny is that? The rum really makes a difference. It is added at the very end, so if you have kids at the table and you're worried about it, just serve them first and add the rum later. You may want to leave it out altogether, but just let me tell you one more time that the RUM IS a LOVELY ADDITION. I use Patak's curry paste which is available in Asian stores where I live. Madras is labelled as a hot paste and Korma as mild. I've also tried a Patak's paste called HOT/TRES EPICE which I do NOT RECOMMEND.

    Recipe #161324

This is an unusual recipe I found in a Flemish woman's magazine. I like it alot, hope you will too !
