We were fortunate enough to sample 415 wonderful new recipes during 2009. This book contains our favorite 10% of the recipes sampled. It was a very difficult decision, particularly getting it down from the final 69. Thanks to all of the wonderful cooks who shared their recipes with us this year!

This always bring's back chilhood memories. It's an old time dessert that my mom made quite frequently. You may also use CornFlakes or RiceChex instead of the Krispies.

    Recipe #272740

Based on a Martha Stewart Recipe, but I altered it (because I think this tastes better! haha) Bite size fresh strawberries filled with a sweet cream cheese mixture. I took these to a party and they were gone in minutes with tons of complements! :)

    Recipe #350991

I like this recipe for it's simplicity. Modified to suit tastes from "What's Cooking" seen on the "W" network.

    Recipe #364743

This is one of my all time favorite pasta dishes. It came from one of my mom's old cookbooks, although I have made a couple tweaks here and there over the years. I know Boursin is a little more expensive but if you can help it, don't use the inexpensive imitation brands. The sauce just won't come out right. I have used the low fat Boursin and it works fine. In a pinch, the alouette brand will work, or you can try subbing goat cheese made with garlic and herbs. For a really big meal, add in some chicken, either grilled, rotisserie or just leftover! As a note, this isn't the best dish to reheat so keep that in mind.

This quiche has a totally different texture than normal ones. Even quiche and cottage cheese haters love it!

    Recipe #247999

Super easy side dish that can double as a meal. It is great over pasta, with grilled chicken.

Was wanting a vegetarian mole enchilada and this is what I came up with.

    Recipe #403428

Easy and Great Tasting Chicken Dish! Serve with rice and add a salad and bread, and you are done! Add an extra breast and thigh for extra chicken. Can be made with boneless chicken breasts as well. If you like things a little more spicy, add some more cumin and cayenne to your black beans!

Central Market recipe for Avocado Quesadillas

    Recipe #320181

You will not BELIEVE the flavor of this spread till you try it! It creates a taste explosion in your mouth and makes you think you're in sunny Greece. Serve with crackers or pita crisps.

    Recipe #125986

A hearty canape that will disappear before your eyes. If you'd like, you can toast the bread rounds and prepare the filling several hours ahead.

This is just too good not to post. Was in the local newspaper and made it for my sister and BIL. We loved it.

    Recipe #182091

Found in a TOH magazine and clipped out to try! Boy was I ever glad I did. A lemony loaf of bread with the extra zip of dried cranberries. I've made this as a regular sized loaf and also in mini loaf sizes for gifts. I have also used walnuts and almonds in this bread and actually prefer the almonds - but use whatever nut you love. The addition of the lemon glaze just takes this bread over the top. *** Edited 11/19/09 - This recipe makes TWO 9x5x3" pans instead of one. Sorry for my error! If you want just one loaf just halve the recipe and it will work perfectly! ***

I like to joke that these pancakes are so light, you have to hold them down! When we have a chance, we'll make them with freshly ground cornmeal bought at local festivals. From The Best Of Country Cooking 2007

    Recipe #395275

"These fries are really good, and the dip is to die for! You would never think to put avocado dip on a sweet potato fry, but... oh my is it a yummy treat!! We ate these and I wanted more when tray was empty. Overcome the skepticism and give it a try! "
