This recipe was featured in an email today from the website and it appears to be different from the other posted recipes on Zaar. Submitted by TLBEUK - "This variation is made with silken tofu. It has all the flavor of the original, with no cholesterol, plus the nutritional benefits of soy protein." The cook time listed is for the refrigeration time.

This is a favorite of my kids who love meat but prefer their tacos this way. Be sure to allow time for the frozen block of tofu to thaw. Freezing and thawing it turns it into a completely different texture. We serve with corn or flour tortillas, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, and plain yogurt pretending to be sour cream. It's not too hot for the kiddos, and Dad jazzes his up with hot sauce...but then he has an asbestos tongue.

From my recipe files. Don't use ground ginger in this one. It is not the same!

this menu maked from several vegetables, like cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, tahu(indonesian tofu) etc. This recipe is original from Indonesia. This menu rich of fiber, and suitable for diet, and...for problem!

Inspiration from Recipe #179764, I changed the seasonings a bit and used low calorie tofu noodles. Salt is optional, but so yummy! This is quick and easy, and brings back wonderful memories of my college days...with a lot less calories! 1 (8oz) package of the tofu noodles is only 40 calories.

From "Vegan Express." These are very tasty and quick. Serve over rice or cous cous. I had a little trouble keeping the tofu on the skewers since it is so soft, so I think I will bake or brown it a bit first next time. (I probably could have drained the tofu better as well). This recipe would work well with just about any vegetables you have on hand.

Use vegan chocolate chips to have a guilt-free experience.

The tofu gives it a really creamy texture

    Recipe #335926

Great in stir-fries, over rice or even in salads

The silken tofu gives this sauce a rich, creamy quality, and the olives give it some punch.

The BBQ sauce recipe is from veganmenu.blogspot.whatever as adapted from Slashfood and finally as slightly adapted by me. Serving suggestion: baked tofu, (cheesy) grits and spinach salad. Note: the barbecue sauce is best if prepared 12-48 hours in advance.

Quick, easy, and delicious. I am always looking for new ways to prepare tofu for my vegetarian daughter. I got the idea to try tofu with taco seasoning. Keep a couple of blocks of tofu in your freezer. The tofu will get a meatier texture from freezing it, if you have time. You can defrost it in the microwave, if you don't have time to let it defrost. Here's a picture:

My roommate and I concocted a curried apple dish, and I built off of it. Feel free to vary spices or fruit based on what's around.

    Recipe #333268

Adapted from _America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook_. I serve this with jasmine rice as a quick weeknight dinner. As written, the amount of heat in this dish is pretty low (my 8 year old daughter doesn't have much of a fire-tongue yet), so adjust the amount of red pepper flakes and curry powder to your taste.

A really simple vegan tortellini that takes no more than fifteen minutes to prepare but tastes great.

This is my lactose-free take on chocolate pudding. I used to use soy milk and jell-o ready-made pudding mix, but I realised that these were full of additives. So I created my own take on the pudding. To share only if you have to =)

Cooking Light. My daughter's favorite things - noodles and tofu! This is another one of those great clean-out-the-fridge type meals. Use whatever veggies you like or have. Snow peas are a great additon.

    Recipe #331238

    Bon Appetite. Note marination time.
