This recipe is from the book "Herbal Teas". It is supposed to be good for colds, but it has a nice flavor for everyday use too. Echinancea is useful for fighting off colds and flu, especially at the onset of symptoms. Catnip eases symptoms of colds, flus and bronchitis and is very calming and relaxing. Yarrow is useful for the onset of colds anf flu and can cause heat flushing, which is good for breaking a fever. Lemon balm contains antiviral components, good for fighting colds and flu. Barb Fahs, the creator of this tea recommends decocting it to make the tea stronger and have more visible results, but I usually will just brew it. I have included instructions for either method. Time is for the decoction process. The recipe can also easily be reducted or increased, just keep the proportions the same.

    Recipe #92820

Detergent for the dishwasher is SO expensive. I searched the net for a home-made alternative and developed this simple recipe. We've been using it for a while now and it washes the dishes even better than the shop bought variety. The amount needed will depend on how soft your water is - we find 1 tablespoon is enough, but we're on tank water. You might need 2 tablespoons if you're on hard town water. Instead of Rinse Aid, we just use white vinegar.

This tea is commonly used in Mid East and Puerto Rico, especially for upset tummies, and it is commonly given to colicky babies. If you like anise try this tea and you will be pleased that it makes a nice light tea.

This is great for sinks, showers and even hands. My husband fixed our roof and his hands were full of tar. He used this and the tar "melted off!" He said it was better than the hand cleaner mechanics use to get the oil off their hands! It shines my stainless steel sink, it doesn't scratch my stovetop and it is awesome on the tub. Best of all it is easy and cheap! I found it on a make your own cleaner website and it works!

You got the sniffles or upset belly, don't reach for a glass of orange juice or that fizzy stuff. That is good, but try pineapple juice instead. It has vitamin C like its orange cousin, but it also has bromelain. Studies have found it is effective in treating upper respiratory conditions and acute sinusitis. The next time you get a cold, make this recipe!contain little or no fat or cholesterol, and provide significant amounts of fiber, digestive enzymes, vitamin C, calcium, and potassium.

    Recipe #159274

This is how I clean my own cast iron skillets, cast iron lids, and cast iron Dutch ovens. If you are unsure about my method, don't try it. It works for me, because although my cast iron is very old, it has no breaks or cracks. I have had really nice results this way! For self-cleaning ovens! *** I read a review (and thanks for it really!) that this will delete the non-stick qualities. I should have made my intention clearer, since this is what I do when cast iron has too much old, old build-up or looks too disgusting from non-use. I am happy someone said something though! I use my cast iron alot, so mine continues to stay nice because of that.

    Recipe #162044

These herbs are known for helping relax and make you sleepy. Drink this before bedtime and get a good nights sleep! The original recipe calls for 1 1/2 oz Vervain leaves, but Zaar won't let vervain go through so I have modified it. Please feel free to use the vervain, it is good for nervousness, will tone up the system, good for stomach troubles. Adapted from Herbal Teas. This may be put in a jar with directions and given as a gift too, perhaps with some bath crystals and a good book! You may also use valerian instead or with the vervain. Look in your health food stores for these teas.

Highly effective! This recipe was shared with me yesterday by my neighbor, Kathrine. I had to ask her what she put on the weeds at the corner of her lot that adjoins my garden because although her weeds had turned brown and died, so did a large patch of my green grass. That's when she shared this recipe, and let me tell you....IT WORKS! Recipe can be doubled or tripled easily.

This is a great, simple drink to detox impurities from your body. It cleanses your body from the inside out. Extremely easy to drink too. Have one first thing in the morning, and one before bed. You will see the difference within a week. Try keeping this up for 1 week every month. If you can drink this everyday, it would be WONDERFUL.
