    Recipe #460188

This is a non alcoholic version of Horse's Neck. Dating back to the 1890s, Horse's Neck was a non-alcoholic mixture of ginger ale, ice and lemon peel. By the 1910s, brandy, sometimes bourbon would be added for a 'Horse's Neck with a Kick' or '-- Stiff'. The non-alcoholic version was still served in upstate New York in the late fifties or early sixties, but eventually it was phased out.

    Recipe #460104

A non alcoholic version of the salty dog usually containing vodka or gin. "Mansfield News Journal," 18th July 1952 "George [Jessel], was fortifying himself against Republicans with a strange potion out of a champagne glass. He let me have a taste, and after bystanders had turned the fire extinguishers on me and successfully resorted to resuscitation, he explained, that this drink was a Salty Dog." "It is a little something of my own invention," he said, "Just half fresh grapefruit juice, half vodka and a dash of salt, and you think any Democrat can win." Enjoy!

    Recipe #459886

I saw this on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Michael Simon was raving over it. It sounded so interesting I had to make it and just happened to have everything on hand(okay, I was out of cilantro, but didn't let that stop me). I didn't have the six pepper blend, but did have black, white and pink peppers, so used that in the pepper mill. This is very different from the traditional guacamole. The name of the episode, was the totally unexpected, after all. Adapted from Web Gangsta who recreated the recipe from Lopez Southwestern Kitchen in Cleveland, Ohio. http://thewebgangsta.com/index.php/2010/05/award-winning-recipe-for-cinco-de-mayo-guacamole-with-blue-cheese-and-bacon-inspired-by-food-network/

    Recipe #459477

I'm going through a bunch of old magazines and wanted to keep this recipe from Womans Day. It's good all by itself for a quick lunch or pair with a salad for dinner.

    Recipe #459310

Brightly colored, vibrantly flavored, a make-ahead winner!

    Recipe #459212

While perusing the internet for Thai cuisine, I happened upon this yummy salad. Lime juice and Thai chili sauce add exotic flavor. You may also use pineapple and banana in this fast and easy low fat salad or dessert. From Thai Kitchen.

    Recipe #459207

Serve with any of the traditional take-out sides. Chow mein, sweet and sour tofu, won tons, etc. The sauce is great and the burgers are too! Oh my goodness, when I saw the photo I knew I had to make it. Adapted from Joni Marie Newman. You can see step by step directions on Joni's blog, justthefood.com.

I have another recipe from Moosewood that's called a Portabella Reuben, but this is from the Food Network Kitchens and I think you will enjoy this one too!You can leave out the tempeh bacon and/or use veggie bacon, toful bacon, wham(vegetarian ham), or even roasted mushrooms.
