    This pie crust retains the flavor of an all butter crust, but is flakier because of the shortening. The lemon juice isn't in the recipe for lemon flavour... trust me you won't taste it, but rather to work with the flour and prevent the pastry from being tough. I also find that the dough gives a bigger yield than the original 9 inch size stated, I roll mine relatively thin and can get a full top and bottom for a 26 cm (12 inch) shallow pie dish.     Several reviewers complain about the recipe being too sweet and/or too buttery as originally written. I've included the amounts I use, which I think are 'just right'. Also, since I usually don't have pumpkin pie spice in the house, I use 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1/4 tsp. cloves and 1/2 tsp. ginger instead. (Tip: Using 2/3 of the cake mix instead of half makes it easy to make 8 cupcakes with the remaining box since the mix calls for 3 eggs.)

    These are the softest and most delicious rolls I've ever had. There's NOT a bit of pumpkin flavor....the pumpkin just seems to add moistness and color. My father and brother (who don't eat pumpkin) love these rolls when I make them at holiday dinners.     From Southern Living, this is my favorite pecan pie. The difference comes from the butter, sugar and corn syrup being cooked together before other ingredients are added. I prefer the recipe as stated, but Southern Living says you may also add 3 tablespoons rum with the eggs for a Rum Pecan Pie. Praline liquer is even better. Note the recipe calls for pecan halves, not chopped pecans. It takes about two minutes to arrange the pecans in concentric circles on top of the filling, making a beautiful presentation that will impress your friends and family. I've also used 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans instead of pecan halves.

    The secret for my buttery tasting moist turkey, is the injector! Yes the large "syringe looking" injector usually used for injecting cajun spices into meats.
