An healthy meal with veggies. You can use brown rice if you prefer. You can add tomato sauce to combine rice and veggies. From the issue of September 2006, Coup de Pouce.

    Recipe #281017

These are really neat to serve at parties, get-togethers, BBQ's, and you can also dress them up by adding chopped or shredded meats or shrimp, crab. The possibilities are endless! The recipe is for a crowd, but can be reduced. Amount of servings depends on how large or small you slice them. This recipe makes approx. 30 pieces. Time includes chill time.

    Recipe #217033

From the Recipe Hall of Fame Cookbook II. This recipe includes a buttermilk glaze in addition to cream cheese frosting. Preparation time does not include chilling time. This cake is knock-down, drag-out delicious.

    Recipe #176207

I have to say, all of my life I was not a yam fan. When I met my husband (boyfriend back then) this was a tradition in his family as a holiday dish. I gave it a try and now i'm hooked. They are a must have for our holidays and just might soon be yours too. I love to eat them right along with the turkey.

    Recipe #229768

This recipe originally came from my Cajun great grandmother. She didn’t speak any English, but her cooking always received that universally understood "Mmmm!" I have modernized the recipe, by using purchased crab-boil and Cajun seasoning, instead of her multitude of mixed spices. (Prep. and cook times are a "guesstimate").

    Recipe #208699

A great version of this Texas original.

    Recipe #197512

This cake filling is so goooood, it made me close my eyes and say mmmmmmmm....it almost didnt make it into the cake (from Southern Living). I made this with the Darn Good Chocolate Cake and the Ganache recipe I posted.

    Recipe #217403

When Damon's Restaurant left our area, I had to re-create their delectable, sweet, hickory-flavored ribs because we all loved them so much. These tender, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth ribs live up to their name and are my family's #1 favorite. Although this recipe takes a while to prepare, the steps are easy, and the results are well-worth the trouble. The sauce recipe came from my cookbook, "True Southern Family Recipes". It can be prepared ahead and refrigerated indefinitely.

    Recipe #57185

If you like the kind of spanish rice served in Mexican restaurants, you will LOVE this recipe. Browning the rice gives it that fluffy and nutty taste that makes it so good. The flavor is not meant to be overpowering, so it goes very good with spicy entrees. This recipe was given to me by a friend who makes the best authentic Mexican dishes ever. Enjoy!

    Recipe #183784

I think I got this recipe of the back of a chili sauce bottle eons ago. It has a zesty flavor while not being hot.

    Recipe #51833

This is one of the most simple recipes to prepare and has a great flavor. Most of the Mexican recipes I post come from my Hispanic half (wife) and have been in her family for many years.

I was horrified one night to discover I had misplaced this recipe, and had to go without. So, here it is for safekeeping. Recipe originally from Fine Cooking. Although it claims to serve four, it seems to make an incredible amount. I freeze half of what it makes before baking, to be enjoyed another evening.

This recipe is simple and great. I got it at a church women's function and have made it many, many times since.

The title says it all! Prep time does not include rising time.

This recipe makes a rather good French loaf. Since it uses "rapid rise" yeast, it is quicker to make because it only needs 1 rise instead of 2. Prep time includes 40 minute rising time.

    Recipe #5335

A favorite I have been making for years. This isn't a very tall loaf and yes - the amount of flour is correct. NOTE: (These days, most bread machines have much bigger pans, so if you have a larger capacity machine, you may instead wish to only mix the dough in the machine, let it rise, then bake the bread itself in a loaf pan (at 350 F for perhaps 30 minutes is a guess). This can still be baked in a larger capacity machine, it will just have an odd shape.

    Recipe #103749

This is my grandmother's recipe that she handed down, it is so good!!!! I love corn in anything, and this has been a favorite, it's real comfort food. This is very moist and keeps, and reheats well.

    Recipe #87482

I saw this recipe on the food network. It was being used as a topping for banana bread. Only 4 ingredients and easy to make.
