From the June issue of Gourmet magazine. Save time by chopping vegetables as the pasta cooks!

    Recipe #155605

This recipe appeared in "Cooking Light" magazine. This is a non-traditional way to prepare eggplant, but it really cuts the calories.

The idea for this recipe came from the booklet for my bread machine. With various tweakings it became "my" claim to bread making fame. Although I make a 6-braid challah from the dough, it could just as easily be baked off as sandwich bread.

Having recently discovered an allergy to tomatoes sent my Italian world into a tailspin. How would I ever survive?? Here is a wonderful, nourishing, comfort-food soup that I put together that eased my sense of deprivation. The amounts are very flexible, plus I've given directions on how to add tomatoes if you "must".

    Recipe #167554

This is a true Tex-Mex recipe concocted by a distant relative stationed at the Alamo nearly 160 years ago. According to family lore, he was out looking for some good tomatoes when Santa Ana attacked the now famous Texas landmark. Luckily, our relative kept this recipe in the lining of his coon-skin cap, and both he and his avocado dip lived to fight another day. Years later, near death from an infected Chihuahua bite, he looked deep into his son's eyes, and with his last breath, uttered the familiar phrase "Remember... the...guacamole."

    Recipe #8739

From AllRecipes.com, this is really good. If you don't like the sweet taste of Miracle Whip use mayo and dill pickle relish instead of sweet pickle relish. It does not take a whole jar of salad dressing, at the most I use 1/2 jar.

Made with ingredients I usually have on hand. This is what I make to clean out my fridge, so the veggies are different each time, but I love this version. This can easily be made vegetarian by substituting vegetable broth.

    Recipe #146603

I have accepted an egg salad cook off challenge, and am delighted to submit my entry here, because it is a winner. Developed in my own kitchen with no assistance from outside sources, other than internal verbal encouragement. Lip-Smacks and loud Cheers of YUM YUM could be heard throughout the house; every great chef strives to hear YUM YUM. Warning: Please do not attempt to express an opinion, with your mouth full of egg salad; it is off-putting, and not a pretty sight.

Not only quick and delicious but low cal too!! from Cooking Light. Serve with Curried Couscous (recipe #16866), and a light green salad.

    Recipe #16864

A nice dessert to serve with ice cream.

    Recipe #16588

Very tender lamb with lots of delicate spices. Great over rice or couscous.

    Recipe #77878

Courtesy of Paula Deen. I made this and took it to a family gathering and they gobbled it right up. They ate it on sandwiches, on crackers, with fritos and even as a topping on a grilled black bean burger.

Quick, creamy, tasty, and reheats well. Great with a grilled cheese sandwich!

    Recipe #29441

I first learned to like this soup at a Chinese restaurant called Nong Chin's in Marion Illinois. I had to try my hand at copying it, as I love it--this is the result. AND these people DO NOT give out their recipes.

This is a Thai recipe creamy and not too sweet, with all the healthy benefits of bananas, so rich in bone-building phosphorus and calcium, heart-healthy potassium, vitamins A and B6. Great for those leg cramps!

    Recipe #136432

Quick and easy to cook with the refreshing flavor of ginger and sesame.

    Recipe #82896

This is from the Low Carb and Lovin' It show on the Food Network (George Stella) This is a beautiful and wonderful way to eat veggies!! I added a couple of ingredients to his recipe that we love...it's a very versatile recipe...make changes to suit your own tastes. Original recipe has 1/4 cup sesame oil which I cut down to 2 tbls.

    Recipe #153792

There are a few of these recipes here already, but mine goes for more peanut butter, less cereal and less chocolate topping. I hope you like them! **cook time is firming up time**

    Recipe #114373

This chicken noodle soup is great on a cool day.
