Butterscotch and peanut butter haystacks fantastic desert

    Recipe #344906

    12 Reviews |  By PollyB

My kids found this recipe, not sure where, but its one of their favorites.

    Recipe #38578

From "Good Eats," episode "Flat Is Beautiful: Going Crackers." If you can't find graham flour, sift together 2/3 c all-purpose flour, 1/3 c coarse-ground wheat bran and 1 1/2 tsp wheat germ. Avoid baking powder with aluminum; it will make your crackers taste metallic.

These are delicious Chocolate Biscotti's with a hint of coffee flavor. So good with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The recipe comes from Ghirardelli Chocolate. Enjoy

This is a great recipe that came from the Food Network, so I wanted to post it here (I was looking for a really good fortune cookie recipe on here). One thing, I did find that when I used the recommended tablespoon in putting the batter on the cookie sheet, the centers of the cookies were too "doughy" and the edges were golden brown, and the cookies broke when I tried to bend them into the fortune cookie shape. So, using a rubber bowl scraper, I put a small amount on the cookie sheet and just swirled it around until it was a nice, thin layer, about 3-inches in diameter. This worked perfectly! But, when the recipe says only make a few at a time, it's no joke! These harden quickly and unless you've got others in the kitchen to help or you move with lightning speed, I suggest only making 2 or 3 at a time.

Make these on Easter Eve, right before bedtime for the kiddies. Preheat the oven to 300--this is VERY important! Read the corresponding Bible passage while adding the necessary ingredients.

    Recipe #220621

In a bid to add to my seemingly-naughty-but-actually-very-healthy recipe collection, I invented these ridiculously healthy banana oatmeal cookies! They have no added sugar, no butter/marg and no flour in them and (considering this) taste rather magnificent if I do say so myself! I'll say it now - if you're NOT on a diet then you probably won't think so much of these. They are pretty yummy, but there are probably plenty of nicer recipes (ie. with butter and sugar) if you're not weight watching. I find these to be a really nice, healthy, filling treat though, and I hope you enjoy them too!

These healthy homemade granola bars are a great snack or breakfast.

    Recipe #272192

Recently received this recipe from Weight Watchers and had to give them a try. These tiny crisp cookies are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth. These are reminiscent of Roosie's wonderful Oataroons Recipe #97116, but with a buttery chewiness. 2 WW points per serving.

    Recipe #158810

This recipe is from a neighbor. Save those crumbs at the bottom of your potato chip bags for these! (Beware: Loads of butter in these cookies.)

    Recipe #137913

This cranberry dessert is the result of slightly tweaking a great recipe found in The Joy of Cranberries: The Tangy Red Treat by Theresa Millang, & features a great combination of lemon & cranberry! Preparation time does not include time needed to cool & chill.

    Recipe #324022

These are the quickest, simplest peanut butter cookies that you will ever make and they taste great!

    Recipe #15411

Taken from a little community cookbook "Cooking on Clogs" that has some great family recipes compiled by Dutch ladies especially for when they pined for typical Dutch recipes and treats that were not available to them shop-bought when they emigrated to other countries. I like the fact that these cookies don't just specify the vague ingredient "speculaas kruiden" (spices) but actually tell you how to make the spice mix from scratch. These cookies available year round in NL but the large, often highly decorative cookies, often made to a regional or local spekulaas spice recipes that are the cooks closely guarded secret, and often topped with slivered almonds, make their appearance in late November in the run up to Saint Nicolas on December 5th. Cooking time includes refrigeration time and yield is a total guess because it depends entirely how large you choose to make your cookies :) ZWT REGION: The Netherlands.

These add a delicious grown-up twist to the a traditional cookie-tray favorite. I know I am guaranteed to smile when I make it each year thinking of a "baking day" full of laughter and conversation with 'Zaar chef KerrBear. From Everyday Food's December 2003 issue.***ADOPTED***

    Recipe #79658

From Robinhood flour Posting for safe keeping. This makes alot of cookies DOUGH NEEDS CHILLED OVERNIGHT and is not included in prep time TIP: Plastic wrap boxes work well for shaping square cookies. Line box with plastic wrap and pack dough firmly inside. Wash and dry frozen juice containers and fill with dough for perfectly round cookies. Simply remove bottom of containers and push out the chilled dough. Also, as a substitute for the cranberries and the pistachios, use any combination of your favourite dried fruit and nuts. TIP # 2 Rolls in refrigerator for 3 months or freezer for 6 months

    Recipe #383980

These can also be rolled into logs and sliced after the appropriate chilling time. They keep in the freezer for several months.

    Recipe #185693

This is a really old recipe that I found in my late MIL's recipe box, which I "inherited." They are surprisingly simple, and very tender and just a lovely cookie to serve anytime.

    Recipe #156593

I found this recipe on a website for diabetics, but don't tell anyone and they'll love it when they try it. It is my favorite cookie recipe with sugar or without. At first the nutritionals seemed way off but discovered there were some errors in the quantities. I'm correcting those so the nutritional info should be correct.

    Recipe #13223

These cookies are wonderful on your holiday trays or for cookie exchanges. They go together in a snap but taste like you fussed over them. Rolled in confectioner's sugar, these are a delight.

Cookies of this type are usually rolled in beaten egg white, which I find a fussy step. That is why I like this recipe so much; it's tasty AND easy. I found it back in the 1980s in a Norene Gilletz book. They look wonderful on a cookie tray.
