I prefer fresh fruit, this recipe calls for dried. Just be aware that if you use fresh, there will be juice escape from the fruit during cooking. I later further modified it to allow for pie filling, almond paste or jam.
Oh boy! I can't wait to make these! They come from Better Homes and Gardens' "Old-Fashioned Home Baking." Prep time is a guess and cook time includes the 5 minutes of cooling at the end before you can bite into these scrumptious-looking muffins!
This is a sweet/tart coffee cake with holiday spices. I like to make this the night before a holiday for breakfast, this way I can start cooking holiday dinner and still have something to eat. This is based off the original recipe #147253, but I have made enough changes it has turn in to a new item, with new flavors. This calls for only 2 cups cranberries, either fresh OR frozen.
Great, sweeter version of banana bread from Central America.Had to make this for an elementary school presentation and all of the kids loved it. Nice and moist bread. Got from http://www.roatanonline.com/caribbean_recipes.htm.
The recipe also calls for pecans and a lime/rum icing, but i omitted both of these. For the original recipe, visit the above link
A wonderful lower-fat cake/muffin recipe that's easy to make as everything is mixed by hand --- this recipe was tested and developed using low-fat yogurt although I would think that low-fat sour cream may be substituted with good results --- visit www.kittencalskitchen.com for more low-fat recipes!
