    I have not tried this recipe yet, but I intend to soon. According to the article, that came with the recipe in this morning's local newspaper, these gnocchi are light as a feather. The recipe comes from a former fine dining establishment in our area that we used to go to very often and the food was outstanding! I am guessing at the prep and cook times.

    This recipe is from www.kitchenmixes.com. It is a great substitute for the boxed onion soup mix. It equals one packet or about 1-1/4 ounces. You can add garlic powder or other seasonings if you wish. It also makes a great gift for cooks. Make up some packets of onion soup mix, add a soup ladel, soup bowls, soup spoons, recipes, and some non-perishable ingredients. Place in a basket or pretty box wrapped in a tea towel.

    I've had this recipe for about 30 years and I really can't remember where I got it from. Since I never owned a "yogurt maker", I always used this method. The recipe makes a surprisingly good "plain" yogurt. Cook/prep times do not include the 4 hour setting time or the 8 hour chilling time. **Note: After you make your first batch of homemade yogurt, you can use your homemade plain yogurt as the starter for future batches.

    I found this on ochef.com. According to them, recipes using dried (powdered) milk approximate the texture but not the flavor of true sweetened condensed milk, and the following recipe tastes much better.     Saving all the odds and ends in the freezer while doing your daily cooking will give you an endless supply of stocks to cook with. You will not waste even those parts of the vegetables or meat that you paid for (usually by the pound), and will never again need to buy canned stocks. This will save you money and allows you to control the contents of your stocks. All the vegetables I have listed in the ingredients list are just ideas of things to save in your bag. You do not need each and every one of them to make a stock. Everything is optional. When you peel carrots or anything else, wash them first. It is rather difficult to wash peelings. I do not recommend strong flavored herbs like cilantro or vegetables that could color your stock strangely like beets. Note: In order for the recipe to post, I had to include measurements, but you don't need measurements. Just use what you have saved in your bags using more or less of whatever is there.

    I attend a mom's group at my church and one Tuesday morning our "craft" was making buns. The experienced bun makers of the previous generation taught all of us young moms the craft of bun making. Now I am proud of my bun making and I am glad that I had a chance to acquire this new skill. (Thank you Mavis!) Prep time does not include rising time. Sometimes I will make a big batch of this recipe and then make breadsticks, hoagie rolls, small buns for kid's lunches, and even a batch of cinnamon rolls but adding cinnamon and sugar and rolling up the dough.     There are so many strange concoctions out there for Beau Monde Seasoning that I was just baffled when I needed it and couldn't buy it (or make it from those weird recipes). After some research - this is the recipe I came up with. It *IS* the closest recipe to Beau Monde Seasoning I can find anywhere on the net (primarily because there IS no close recipe anywhere on the net)?!?!? This is so simple I don't know why everyone is getting it wrong. Beau Monde Seasoning contains: Salt, dextrose, onion, celery seed, and silicon dioxide. Salt is self explanatory - dextrose is the The dextrorotatory form of glucose which is derived from starch. (Effectively, it's a type of sugar..slightly heavier than meat which can be absorbed in to the meat tissue. Onion and celery seed are the primary flavors we are trying to accomplish here... the silicon dioxide is used as a flow agent and/or moisture absorbent...so toss a few grains of rice in your bottle! For the Dextrose (unless you wish to purchase powdered dextrose, which is available in some health food/sports stores) we will use either powdered sugar or caster sugar. The amount I'll list is simply to my taste -- certainly feel free to start with less and adjust it to suit your own tastes. We'll use Onion powder and Celery salt to accomplish 3 of the 4 major ingredients.

    A friend gave me this recipe and it is a great treat for the kiddos, especially in the spring and summer! Easier to make if you have popsicle molds (available at most dollar stores and from Tupperware), but you can get away with using 3 ounce paper cups and craft sticks or plastic spoons. Plan ahead, as they need to freeze for several hours.
