An old family favorite comfort food that's delicious served warm at breakfast, or chilled as a special snack. Delicious! For kids of all ages. ;-) Recipe is just as my mother and German Oma made. Enjoy! Serving Suggestion: Top with butter while warm. Enjoy pudding warm or chilled, sweetened to your taste and with fruit toppings of your choice. Some of our favorite toppings are: cinnamon-sugar, vanilla-sugar, honey, applesauce, fruit cocktail, canned peaches, pears, apricots, or fresh berries.

Just a quick and easy way to get nice crispy/chewy bacon in the microwave, YUM!! Been making it this way for years, and thought I would share. This method sure beats the spattered grease mess all over the stove top from pan frying, or having to use the oven in the hot summertime. Enjoy! NOTE: Cooking times will vary according to your microwave, the type of bacon, and your desired level of crispness/ chewiness, so feel free to adjust cooking times as necessary.

The name says it all--this sandwich is big, thick and buttery, with a slight kick from the horseradish! Very quick and easy to prepare, makes a yummy lunch or simple dinner. Serve warm, with a pickle spear and chips, add a cup of soup or side salad for a more substantial meal. A side of Avocado Horseradish Spread recipe #284084 #284084 makes a tasty dipping sauce. May use sliced oven roasted or deli roast beef, or my Shredded Beef (Crock Pot) recipe #269126 #269126, pile it on as thickly as you wish, and I hope you enjoy!

A longtime favorite sandwich of mine, since first trying the California Sandwich many moons ago at a little "healthfood" deli stand in Pacific Beach, California. This is my version. Use recipe #173076 for ease of preparation. Also good with thinly sliced tomatoes, in place of the cucumbers. I hope you enjoy!

Here's our family favorite simple macaroni and cheese! Yummy creamy goodness and an easy one pan dish made quick and simple on the stovetop; score! Almost identical to the recipe on the Velveeta box. We like ours sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese, at the table. Yummy add-ins are: veggies (Fordhook limas are my favorite and DH likes extra pepper and cottage cheese in his), some leftover ham, a can of tuna, or even some sliced hotdogs. Be as creative as you like! Perfect for those busy week-night dinners. Enjoy!

I like to serve this tender and delicious pan-seared steak for Valentine's Day or romantic occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays! Takes only 20 minutes, start to finish. Wonderful paired with my Alsatian Baked Potatoes or Gratin Dauphinois, steamed seasonal vegetables or a tossed green salad, and a simple dessert of fresh ripe berries & chantilly cream.

Great hearty rib-sticking meal for breakfast, lunch or supper! Very popular in my household. This is a versatile one-pan recipe-- you can sub or add ingredients as desired-- try ham, mushrooms, tomatoes, or chives. (Note: For an equally delicious simplified version of Bauernfruhstuck using frozen Potatoes O'Brien, please see my recipe #278230). Delicious! P.S. Any leftovers you have make a wonderful breakfast the next day--reheat a few seconds in the microwave (although I've been known to eat this cold), and serve with toast or stuff into a flour tortilla for a quick breakfast on-the-go.

These warm fried egg and melted cheese quesadillas make a hearty & satisfying breakfast, lunch, or supper. Very popular in my household. I hope you enjoy, too! Serve with assorted sides of sour cream, fresh tomato slices, lime wedges, my Fresh Pico de Gallo (Salsa Fresca) recipe #117811, Guacamole recipe #112059, and/or hot sauce. Add a cup of soup or pinto beans on the side for extra hungry hard workin' cowboys or cowgirls. Recipe may be doubled, tripled or quadrupled, etc. Muy delicioso!

Recipe #362975

Rise and shine! Here's a quick and easy hearty breakfast dish, that serves one or two. Delicious! Use ham or crisp crumbled bacon in place of the breakfast sausage links, if desired. Or make yours a vegetarian frittata. Recipe is easily doubled or tripled, to feed more people.

A wonderful recipe for traditional Scottish Steak Balmoral, as served throughout the region and at the famous "The Witchery" restaurant located in Edinburgh, Scotland at the very top of the Royal Mile near the gates of beautiful Edinburgh Castle. The "Old Hell Fire Club" used to hold their meetings in this historic sixteenth century building. Tips: We prefer tender Aberdeen angus filet steaks in this first-rate recipe, but sirloin steaks or rib-eyes are just as good. Do try to use a very high quality beef, if possible. You can carefully flambe the whisky in step 2, but I usually don't bother as I find it boils down quickly enough into the divinely smooth and mellow sauce without the extra step. Recipe makes a generous serving of whisky sauce--by all means, you may adjust proportions to suit your own tastes. Serve these steaks with steamed new potatoes, fries, or baked (jacket) potatoes, and seasonal greens or a tossed salad. Try to use a good Scotch whisky (single or blended)....I used Laphroaig 15 yo single malt which is usually reserved for special occasions....but this was phenomenal! ENJOY!

Sophisticated lemon cream makes these simple scrambled eggs dinner table table-worthy. Lovely for a holiday breakfast/brunch, served with bubbly and mimosas. Enjoy! Be sure to use wild smoked salmon, preferably from Alaska. Wild salmon is sustainable, healthful and delicious. From Bon Appetit.

Recipe #352881

Delicious, light as a feather French-style pancakes/crepes! For variation, try adding vanilla, rose water, orange blossom water, finely grated lemon, orange or mandarin rind, sliced bananas, blueberries or any type of liqueur (Anisette or Brandy is particularly French and tasty) to the batter. Fill with my recipe #480674 then roll them up crepe style. Awesome! Or, make the pancakes small and top each pancake with a heaped teaspoon of creme fraiche and a teaspoon of rose petal jam: romantic and lovely! At the table, pass around quartered lemons, powdered sugar, warmed maple syrup or my homemade lavender honey (see recipe #383209), and whipped cream accompanied with bowls of fresh berries and edible fresh flowers such as rose petals or lavender flowers. And, pancakes/ crepes are wonderful drizzled with flavored syrups (especially orange blossom or rose water syrup) with a little lemon juice added. I hope you enjoy! Recipe adapted from "Modern French Classics" by Camille Le Foll.

An A+ burger, guaranteed to please!!! However, these are NOT your drive-thru variety cheeseburger, so if that is what you are looking for, pass these up. These burgers are equally tasty prepared with blue cheese, rather than cheddar. Try recipe #173076 for the bacon. From Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce.

A quick, easy one pan meal that won't heat up the kitchen on those hot summer days! Kid friendly, if you omit the capers and use the lemon juice option vs. the wine. We like ours topped with Parmesan cheese at the table. Hope you enjoy.
