This is from Cooking From Quilt Country.

    Recipe #243755

I love homemade hash browned potatoes. Sometimes good hash browns are hard to come by in a restaurant so I came up with my own recipe. I use red or Yukon Gold potatoes for these. For best results, prepare the potatoes using my recipe #77231 recipe.before making these. Figure one medium potato per serving. This gives the potatoes a jump start and prevents them from absorbing a lot of the grease and sticking together. These are really good with gravy on them. Prep time does not include the time for preparing potatoes Cook time is approximate. If you are using a skillet that is NOT non-stick, such as aluminum, preheat it on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes with nothing in it. Not even oil. This prevents the potatoes from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Use caution when adding the bacon to the pan. Originally posted March 10 2003 Edited on June 10, 2011

I haven't tried this, but surely intend to! Looks rich and creamy-just the way I like my spuds. Recipe does not specify number of servings so I'm guessing 10-12. Enjoy!

Roasting brings out the flavors of the potatoes, onions and garlic. You choose what color you want to use for the bell pepper.

I will make extra mashed potatoes just for these. They are great as a different appetizer or served with a salad or soup for lunch or a light dinner.

    Recipe #132303

This is a perfect substitution for potatoes to accompany steak or any grilled meats. Not only is it delicious, but it's almost as easy as baked potatoes. This has been a family favorite for years and we make it often. The cooking time includes cooking the tortellini. Enjoy!

I put these things together by accident, but my toddler can't seem to get enough. An easy side dish for steaks, chops or chicken or a yummy snack.

    Recipe #190977

My mom taught me how to make these potatoes when I was a little girl living in the hills of Van Lear Ky. I remember the way they smelled and I still make them today; my family loves these simple fried potatoes.

    Recipe #218746

Growing up, my parents used to have dinner parties two or three times a year. One regular attendee, Monsignor Nolan, was a gourmand and, on more than one occasion, would don my mother's apron and cook his version of Potatoes O'Brien in her kitchen! One of my younger brothers couldn't pronounce the word "monsignor," and "monsidene" was as close as he got! So we dubbed these "Potatoes Monsidene." The bacon fat and fresh parsley really give this dish a great flavor!

Use your favourite herbs and spices to top these tasty, crunchy potatoes. Our family love a pinch of cayenne pepper, cumin and caraway seeds. I also like to dab the potatoes with a bit of butter before cooking.

    Recipe #123403

A healthier version of Hassleback potatoes. These can be made ahead. Par boil, shake up, slash and stuff the potatoes. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days or freeze for 1 month. Bring back up to room temperature before roasting on the day.

    Recipe #193788

I was the master mind who created these little gems, I like this because it's a bit different from potato pancakes and you don't have to fry these and you don't have to do much to your leftover potatoes!

NOTE: In the ingredients it says 3 tsp Montreal Steak Spice the computer would accept this but would not accept the real ingredient Penzey's Northwoods Fire Spice mixture. Use Penzeys's! These potatoes are so easy to make but you will need Penzel's Northwoods Fire Spice mix. They are so good. This recipe is dedicated to SusieD for introducing me to Penzel Spices and her generous nature.

    Recipe #164147

Great low-fat snack or side dish.

You may omit the thyme or marjoram and substitute other herbs like oregano. Make them to your liking. This is a high fat recipe you can cut it back by only spraying the potatoes with Pam or other such spray and then sprinkle the herbs over the pottoes coating them. They will still be tasty and much healthier
