Ragouts are thick and rich stews; this one is laden with mushrooms, chicken and sausage. Porcini mushrooms, a.k.a. cèpes, add their pungent, woodsy aroma to make this stew a knockout. It's diabetic friendly if you use a spicy low fat sausage (turkey sausage works)
This sumptuous dish was crafted by Chef Jean-Louis Gerin, a nine-time James Beard Award Nominee whose restaurant in Greenwich, CT, Restaurant Jean-Louis, is consistently rated one of the best by Wine Spectator and numerous other food and wine publications. Though he intends to use this recipe in his upcoming cookbook, we demanded that he share it with us; such indulgences must not be tucked away! (Did I mention that he is one fabulous bon vivant?)
While this serves 6 keep in mind that these are HEALTHY portions. If your feeding teenage boys you'll be lucky to get 2 servings. However, you'll feel better knowing that they are eating good for them food. I actually reccomend the micro method on this one.
With the red and green and the white this is almost Christmasy looking. I love this myself and I hope that the Zaar folks will find that this is something they like just as well as I do. It quick and simple to do too.

I'm placing some of my very best holiday recipes on Zaar for others to discover and enjoy. I haven't found anyone who didn't want seconds of this! I use the food processor to do the slicing.
I have never met Leslie but I'd like to thank her! I found this on another web site and after trying it I think it's the only way I'll make stuffing again. If you'd like to try something a bit different and really good give this one a try.
This is comfort food and a meal in a pot. All you need is some good quality bread. It was shared with me by a new neighbor when we were getting acquainted so I call it Donna's Stew. I must admit that I use canned green beans (drained) because I dislike frozen ones.
These are decadent and wonderful and give a whole new meaning to "grilled cheese". Be sure to use a very good sourdough and the freshest of mushrooms. Note: This is a difficult sandwich to turn in the pan, but definitely worth the hassle.
This is a wonderful way to take advantage of summer's best strawberries. I hope that you will all enjoy it. The strawberries need to sit in the sugar for hours to develop the juice so do plan ahead just a bit. I started the berries in the morning and made the loaf in the afternoon.
End the perfect party with a decadent dessert that will amaze and delight your guests. I'm giving amounts for 8 but that is only because I have to. Get as many strawberries as you want and a bottle of Amarula Cream liqueur and go to town! the prep time is 2 mins per berry but you can do it in less time that that when they are washed and waiting *wink*
This drink has been handed down through generations of families in the region of northern Mexico, just south of the Texan border. It has been said that an elderly patriarch by the name of Don Trevino first came up with this drink.
This is an updated version of the Pan de Cafe Infectado usually drank in the border of the small barrios surrounding the city of Matamorros in Mexico during their Independence Day celebration.
