    This is the 2005 runner-up prize winning recipe from the aidells.com website. Aidells' chicken, turkey and pork sausages should be available in your local grocery store - any flavored sausage will work. I added more curry and cumin and cayenne - we like it spicy! This was a cinch to make and it was delicious!

    When i first saw this recipe I thought it looked interesting but I never thought I would adore it as much as I do. It is adapted from WiGal's Creamed Cabbage Soup. I had to make it a little healthier to fit into my Weight Watchers Life Style. On Core it is 0 points if you are sure to use very lean ham.

    This is the only way I make corn chowder. It doesn't leave that awful skum around the pot like cooking it on the stove does, that you almost have to sandblast off. The bacon gives a wonderful flavour, and the two kinds of corn a nice consistency.

    One of my uncles and aunts was here for what is likely to be his last visit (he has cancer and is not doing well), so I wanted to prepare a really nice dinner. The original recipe was for 4, but I modified slightly, and doubled to serve 8, serving as the first course. It originated in one of my diabetic cookbooks (uncle and aunt are both diabetic), but was a major hit with the non-diabetics as well as the diabetics. Everyone was disappointed there was none left (for thirds).
