My husband recently discovered this flavor rich, thick, beef stew recipe, and was amazed at how easy it was for him to make. We decided it was definitely a repeat recipe, and wanted to post it here for future reference.

    Recipe #156745

This is a great soup for crisp fall evenings. I used thighs or breasts for the cooked chicken and this would be great for leftover chicken.

    Recipe #193205

My family thinks this is fabulous, and that is all that matters. Made in the slow cooker.

    Recipe #25806

In the recipe description it said that this is one his mother's recipes. He states that it is very economical and was eaten frequently in his home growing up. Placed here for safe keeping, but sounds great! This recipe would be a great "springboard" so to speak, as you could easily add in zucchini, green beans, turnips, corn, you name it! He suggests serving with a hot loaf of bread. This is a very BASIC recipe, just as my mom would have made it with little to no seasoning. I personally add 1 tsp or more of Italian Seasoning as well as about 1/2 tsp of Seasoning Salt and then Tobasco sauce to taste. GREAT comfort food.

This is a delious comfort food soup. Good for a snowy Montana day.

Everything you love about an egg roll, with out all the hassle of ROLLING! This quick, and simple soup is very tasty. In fact it tastes JUST like an egg roll! It is also a pretty frugal recipe and not to bad for you either! I hope you can enjoy this and change it to fit your personal flavors! Omit the meat to make this for non meat eaters!

    Triple for Christmas (at least)

    Recipe #401396

This recipe has been in the family for many years. Great for those cool fall nights or a Monday Night Football party.

Great on a cold night after Christmas shopping, and quick too! (Cooking light)

    Recipe #15875

A friend cooked this, then gave me the recipe absolutely wonderful. My family makes me cook this at least once a week. We eat it by itself, on chil dogs, over rice, frito pies, but the best way is with sweet yellow cornbread. This will make a nice size pot. Did not put how much of each of the spices, you take and do these to your taste. I like lots of garlic. To make this quick to make buy the frozen onions and peppers. Have not cooked this in crock pot but would be great that too. Enjoy.

This was an easy and delicious weeknight supper which was changed slightly for my family's tastes from a recipe from the local newspaper (which was adapted from Slow & Easy Recipes) Edited recipe per a review stating what to do with the beef.

    Recipe #392129

A meal on its own!!! Tastes just like stuffed peppers without all the glamour. Truly easy and satisfying. Comfort food at its finest. Can easily be prepared in a crock step 3 just throw it in the crock on med for 7 hours . It freezes nicely too!

    Recipe #392180

The first time I made this my husband said it reminded him of Wendy's chili. This is not a spicy version, so I would suggest keeping a bottle of hot sauce around for those of us that like it HOT. Crushed tortilla chips and sharp shredded cheese make great toppings.

I love mushrooms and this soup is quite good

    Recipe #137345

We make this every summer with vegetables from our garden. Our children love to help make this soup and eat it too. I like to double this recipe and freeze the leftovers. You can use any 5 cups of veggies that you like, we just happen to like the carrot/zucchini/cabbage combo.
