Hearty, Cheesy and Just Plain Good!! The crusty croutons with stringy cheese along with tomatoes and beef is "to die for". A wonderful entree for soup night! Very popular! Easy to prepare! Note: Add 1 cup of water to allow for noodles to cook in soup.
My sister gave this recipe to me many years ago. It's become a family favorite. My kids request it often. I am not a big fan of Velveeta cheese, but it sure does work in this recipe! The soup is creamy and highly satisfying. Enjoy :-)
We love soups, especially in winter months. This one really hits the spot on a cold day. Hope you like it too.
Don't drain any of the cans of vegetables and don't add any salt. The seasoning mixes have plenty of salt for the entire recipe.
This is an excellent chili recipe. My husband is a chili lover and requests this about once a week in the Winter. It's a little on the hot/spicy side but you can adjust the amount of seasonings if you want it milder. I like to serve this with cornbread muffins and/or crackers. (Estimated prep time. Although it calls for cooking the chili 2 hours you can cook it on low for several hours).
Another crockpot recipe from the Busy Woman's Slow Cooker Cookbook, (Cookbook Swap 2008, ALSKANN). A Mexican flavor that can warm your insides.
I like simple and comforting. I especially LOVE easy peasy and come home to dinner menus. Makes life so simple for the busy mom or dad or busy person!
This soup is satisfying without being heavy and leaving you in carb-coma. It is rich, creamy and filling. Serve with a nice salad and a glass of cold iced tea and you have a perfect meal that will not bust your diet! Occasionally, I have been known to sprinkle a few fat free croûtons on top for added texture and crunch. A great way to use up left over baked potatoes, or bake off a few extra the next time you bake potatoes and store them in the fridge up to 4 days in a sealed container.
I invented this recipe completely on my own on a cold winter day when I craved something spicy but simple. I've never made plain tomato soup since :) It's a truly wonderful change, spicy but creamy, warm and smooth..and kids love it. If your children are particularly sensitive to spiceiness, you may want to reduce the hot pepper sauce and possibly eliminate the red pepper flakes. My boyfriend and his son actually came up with the name "Dorito Soup." They love it on a cold day! I'm sure yours will, too!
My family could not stop talking about how good this soup was! It came from Cuisine at Home: Splendid Soups. It recommended serving with Shoestring French Fries and chopped pickles. After making it, we also had the idea that it would be great served over toasted hamburger buns or biscuits.
There are many cities that claim to be the birthplace of chili, but it was born on the cattle trails of Texas. This will be a big surprise for a lot of you, but real Texas chili does NOT have beans or chunks of tomato. I say that to say this; If you want to experience what early cowboys of Texas experienced then follow this recipe. Oh yeah, don't freak out by the amount of chili powder. If you like your chili hot and spicy leave as is, if you like it spicy omit the cayenne.
This is so good! It's nice and cheesy and oh so easy to put together. Really good with slices of hot cornbread. I got this recipe from my Mother who is a wonderful cook. Cook time is time it takes to melt the cheese in the soup mixture.
This is a yummy and easy soup to throw together. Cheese compliments broccoli and potatoes so well. Ultimate comfort food when the weather starts to get colder. I love to serve it with homemade rolls or bread and a salad. I make it with skim milk to cut back on calories but feel free to substitute whole milk or half-and-half for a creamier soup. If I'm really short on time, I just throw in a can of diced, already cooked potatoes towards the end of the cooking time until they are heated through. If you want a thicker soup, just add desired amount of flour mixed until smooth with an equal amount of water. Mmmmmm....
This is SO simple, either crock pot or stovetop! A friend of mine served this a few weeks ago on a very cold Sunday and I've made it three times since! Spice it up or tone it down as you like. I like spicy foods so I add a lot of Tabasco? to my bowl! Some people like to add okra as well for the real gumbo look...I hope you enjoy this!
