This is my own version of Panera Bread's black bean soup. It tastes a lot like it, and I love it! Use vegetable stock to make it vegetarian.

    Recipe #49737

I am a garlic-lover! Don't worry, the garlic gets mellow when cooked, yet has wonderful flavour.

    Recipe #102930

Quick and easy. Makes a great lunch.

    Recipe #57009

Try these as an appetizer with cheeses and wine, or as a gorgeous vegetarian sandwich filling, with pasta, or just on their own.

    Recipe #142779

This recipe has been a huge hit with everyone who has ever tried it. We make it almost weekly, and the leftovers are eaten immediately. It is also very healthy! It is a little spicy, so if you don't have too much of a tolerance for spicy foods, you may choose to leave out the seeds of the jalapeño. If you love spicy, like we do, extra cayenne pepper adds even more zing. Enjoy!

I have just divulged my own county's, my grandmother's, and my mother's most coveted soup recipe. (Lord, help me!) My most wonderful food memories stem from this soup. When I was a little girl, family and friends would gather at my parents house, bringing proportionately larger amounts of the listed ingredients (alas, usually fresh ingredients). Everyone would gather outside around the old iron washpot over a wood fire and prepare this stew with the ingredients they had brought. My mom and dad cooked the stew for hours as everyone visited. The results? Simply perfection. Nothing has ever tasted better to me on a cold Winter day.

I received this recipe from a friend at work who got it from a lady in Texas. It is exceptionally good authentic tortilla soup. I use already cooked rotisserie chicken from the store to make it quicker to put together.

    Recipe #122111

This is our favorite chili. It took me awhile to finally get it right after experimenting with this & that, but, it has now paid off. This is a really nice tasting chili. Not too hot, just right.

This tastes like a baked potato and sour cream. It is so yummy on a cool night. You'll make it often once you have tried it. It is good served with a Recipe #102070.

    Recipe #101980

This recipe is from another web site. It is like O'Charley's Loaded Potato Soup. In fact, I prefer this recipe over the real thing. Times are a guess.

    Recipe #69015

This is my recipe for gumbo. I have made it with shrimp or chicken. We like it either way. You can make it as spicy as you like . We do not care for it to spicy or hot.

    Recipe #82288

A delicious thick soup. Perfect for fall and winter.

    Recipe #142140

    Another family favorite.

I really like the way mashing some of the beans gives the soup a thicker texture. This freezes VERY well, just leave out the cheese.Let it thaw in the fridge, then microwave to heat. Add a Cheese and Herb Corn muffin #22536, for a wonderful under 400 calorie lunch.

My Italian Aunt often made this when we went to visit. I was just given the recipe. It is so good and so easy to make. You can use any leafy green like spinach or turnip greens but romaine has a nice sweet flavour so it was always the first choice. This is more like a chili/stew style soup.

    Recipe #31988

This soup is so different, yet so delicious. Easy to prepare, just do your chopping and measuring of spices first, then all you need to do is make the soup. I can't really describe the flavor, except to say that is like no other soup I've had before--very "fresh" tasting--your tastebuds will thank you! From Easy Meals, Mexican. Don't let the long list of ingredients put you off. Doing the prep first makes it easy--chopping your veggies, and measuring the spices. And don't say yuck to the orage zest, raisins and chocolate. It all contributes the wonderfully fresh, lively taste of the soup!

A very good hearty soup, serve as a meal with crusty rolls. Freezes well.

I combined parts of several different recipes and came up with this soup that I've been making for years. As much as I hate cold weather, I'm always kind of happy to see it arrive just so I can fix this soup for dinner. I usually serve it with crusty sourdough rolls for a wonderfully satisfying comfort meal.

    Recipe #100981

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE TITLE! Your kids, hubby, wifey, and everyone will eat it. I have made triple batches and could not keep it in the house. It's very smooth, and easily eaten by anyone with or without teeth. :) Fights have started over the leftovers.
