This is a very easy recipe that I have changed over the years, but originally it came from a hospital I worked at and was used to help overweight patients lose weight before surgery.
I make it because my whole family loves it and it is so low in calories it is pretty much a free food when I am dieting. I do not care for cabbage in soup so this suits us just fine! I have made it in the crock pot as well with great success. There is a 'diet meal plan' that goes with the original recipe if anyone is interested..
This freezes wonderfully, so I put some of it in small personal sized containers and thaw as required for my hubby and my self for lunches.
Servings are estimated, it makes a large pot full.

This is a very spicy, lime & cilantro flavored soup that I came up with because I like Lime & chili flavored Ramen soup. I can't believe I admitted this on a cooking site :) This is not a thick soup, it's very thin and very flavorful and is low in fat, it's a combination of several recipes I have seen. This will clear up your sinuses! Great for a fast lunch.
I've been experimenting with reduced fat velveeta cheese in soup and came up with this yummy soup. The cheese is not overwhelming, but it does provide a creaminess to the soup. The flavors are very simple, not fancy in any way - but it tastes great and is very low in calories too! WW pt = 2/serving
From _America's Test Kitchen_ episode 908, "Soups of the Day." Great flavor in an hour. Be sure to get real sirloin tip, also called "flap meat." You can substitute blade or flank steak, if you trim out any hard gristle.
