    This IS a WONDERFUL SOUP. And look at the list, just a few ingredients! I came up with lots of GREAT ideas for the contest, but when I asked my friends what they liked best, they always mentioned this humble soup! How funny is that? The rum really makes a difference. It is added at the very end, so if you have kids at the table and you're worried about it, just serve them first and add the rum later. You may want to leave it out altogether, but just let me tell you one more time that the RUM IS a LOVELY ADDITION. I use Patak's curry paste which is available in Asian stores where I live. Madras is labelled as a hot paste and Korma as mild. I've also tried a Patak's paste called HOT/TRES EPICE which I do NOT RECOMMEND.

    This very quich soup is a nice way to warm these cold days and comfort those colds. The hot pepper can be ommitted, crushed, seeded, chopped, or left whole depending on if you like heat in your soup. Throw in any vegies you like Bok choy or fresh spinach is good.

    This originally came from a Weight Watchers cookbook and I adapted it slightly for a chili cookoff at work. It ended up as a finalist and was voted "Most Memorable". I really enjoyed the flavor and it is very quick to put together, which is even better! 4 WW points for 1 cup serving.

    This recipe comes from The Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery in historic Kimmswick, MO. My daughter named it "Football Soup" because we always make it when we have a crowd over watching the game after church! Incredibly easy, freezes beautifully, and my bean hating husband even loves it. I add an extra can of green chilies for more flavor. You can make it without the chicken for a cheaper meatless meal, and you can make it without the monterey jack cheese for a low-fat, less thickened soup (but the cheese adds a lot of flavor!)

    I was looking for a way to use up some leftover turkey - Lo and Behold I came up with this wonderful soup from the Food Network on Quick Fix Meals with Robin Miller. Seeing as the holidays are right around the corner and there will be plenty of leftover turkey in our kitchens, I thought I would share my new found treasure with you ;) This recipe is super easy and tastes great!     Based off my Dad's basic soup recipe. I had a house full of sickies tonight so I whipped this up to try to soothe and heal. ;) The feedback from DH and kids was an overwhelming - YUMMY!! SO...I guess it is Zaar worthy. ***Note I made this with 8oz of star pasta and although fabulous, it did continue to swell through the evening. We just added broth to extend the soup for the next day's lunches/dinner. I have adjusted the recipe accordingly to reduce this, but just a note to be aware. ;)

    From www.TopSecretRecipes.com I got this copycat recipe off of Top Secret Recipes site.I love Friday's Black Bean Soup because of its spiciness and I was so happy to find this! This is so easy to prepare! You can make this soup on the stovetop or in the slow cooker.I brought this soup to a boil on the stove and then put it in the slow cooker and let it simmer on low for 2-3 hours. If you like black bean soup, you're gonna love this!

    I think this is our #1 all time family favorite and it's often requested for birthday dinners. It's the 'Bestest' because my daughter described it as such when she was little. This freezes well and I've added directions for that and for reheating.

    You will not believe the deeply satisfying flavour of this stew. This is our favourite wintry stew dish - comfort food to the max. The cooking time is more or less accurate, but it really depends on the cut of meat used - not everyone used chuck, and then, not all chuck is the same! You really have to poke and prod and taste to get it to where you want it...but that's what cooking is all about, isn't it? ;-)
