This is a great recipe based on one from the Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook.

    Recipe #395313

This is a fun soup that uses frozen (Mrs. T's brand) Pierogies. It's quick and easy. The cut-up pierogies release the potato filling and help to thicken the soup.

    Recipe #265210

This was served at my church's annual Soup Night. Heavenly! I think I ate 3 bowls all by myself.

Recently had an extra pint of cherry tomatoes on hand and was in search of comfort food. Devised this soup in a pinch and thought it was worth sharing. Mine was a quick soup for one but the recipe has been scaled up and uses the more economical Roma tomato. If you have lots of cherry or grape tomatoes -- they have a sweetness that pairs beautifully with the vinegar -- use them or do a mix with the roma tomatoes. If you are making this Kosher, skip the cheese or be sure to use vegetable broth.

A large batch recipe from the Nordstrom's Cafe.

    Recipe #58153

This is a wonderful little soup! Healthy, very fancy, and requires minimal ingredients. I hope you all enjoy!

    Recipe #277573

Lovely soup with substance. Literally! Not "brothy" but rich... and probably not heathy either. I won't tell if you won't!

    Recipe #56703

This soup is so easy to make and refreshing on a hot summer's day. We enjoyed it when visiting Walt Disney World and I was lucky enough to find the recipe. (Cooking time is actually the time for refrigerating.)

    Recipe #305834

This is an old recipe from J. L. Hudson's Department Store in Detroit, which was opened in 1911. In 1963 they closed the shop because the downtown area had become less than safe and they simply could not attract customers.

This soup stands on it's own as a main course. Serve with Italian bread and a tossed green salad. To save time, before cooking I use the kitchen shears to cut up the bacon. To cook, stir bacon with a wooden spoon till crisp. This recipe comes from Gourmet Magazine.

The Fasolatha (bean soup) Festival, originated in Florina, Macedonia, Greece, and is now a major cultural event in many Greek communities across the world. In the Northern hemisphere, the religious festival is traditionally observed near the start of winter - on St. Nicholas Day (during his lifetime he was known for giving sustenance to the poor). Food is a major part of the festival. Apart from Fasolatha (bean soup), Olives, Renga (smoked herring) freshly baked Florinian Bread (Pogatsa) Gyros, Souvlaki, Kebabs, and Loukoumathes (honey cinnamon - soaked donuts) are also served. Fasolatha is one of the heartiest dishes on the Greek vegetarian table, and a Lenten mainstay.

Use a smokey bacon for best flavor. If you prefer not to spoon off the bacon fat omit the olive oil.

    Recipe #345767

This tastes exactly like the pasta e fagioli soup at the Olive Garden. Wonderful! Husband loves it!

This is a chowder that uses ingredients that I almost always have on hand, so it is quick and easy to throw together before work, and come home to on a nice fall evening. Relatively easy to double as well for extra large families or get togethers.

A very good hearty soup, serve as a meal with crusty rolls. Freezes well.

This hearty soup is adapted from a recipe by Jenny Levison, owner of Souper Jenny, a Buckhead GA cafe that serves hundreds of bowls of soup a day from a menu that changes daily. Jenny's soup-making tips include "tasting everything as you go, using recipes as a guide. Read through them and substitute if you need to adapt to what you have on hand or your taste, and then try it!" She suggests using a dark beer like Guinness; others prefer pale ale ... but use a lighter beer if you'd like. I especially like the combination of horseradish, cheese and beer in the basic recipe and suggest adding spices, etc., to heighten flavors as desired. I've included Optional Additions that might give you some ideas but are not part of the original recipe. Another Golden Whisk winner as one of "The Best Recipes of 2009" awarded by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

I got this recipe from my sister. It's hearty enough to be a meal in itself.

    Recipe #121077

This is my favorite recipe for potato soup. It's a copycat of the one they use to serve at the St. Louis Bread Company (Panera). The recipe originally called for shredding your potatoes, but I never could get them to cook that way. I know they should cook faster, but I never could get it to work.

    Recipe #150863

This really is the best baked potato soup I have ever tasted. I've had this recipe for quite a while now and I thought it was time to share with you guys!
