I got this recipe off this group i joined and I've been dying to try it out. I haven't been to olive garden in over a year, so this is as close as i can get. Honestly, I could barely tell the difference, and it was my favorite part of eating there. The soup. This is SO good, and excellent with breadsticks! I garnish it with shredded parmesan cheese and fresh ground pepper. Jan 2011- ETA I just wanted to thank everyone for the great reviews...this is still a staple in our house, glad to see so many enjoying it!!! Thanks again!!
I've gone to Carrabas many times just for this soup. A lady from my supper club happened to bring this in for our soup theme and it tasted exactly like Carrabas! I've substituted Italian turkey many times and you would never notice the difference. You might also want to sprinkle some fresh basil and Parmesan cheese on top. Its good with a crusty piece of bread!
Found this recipe in a magazine and though it has multiple steps in preparation it is so worth it. I found the Ancho chilis in the Mexican section of my grocery store and I am told they are the sweetest of all the dried chilies. Hope you like this as much as my family did.
This is the one you want when you're tired, you don't have a lot of time, and you don't know what in the world to fix for dinner -- pretty much makes everyone happy. Adjust the vegetables based upon what you have on hand. This soup is essentially a bright-tasting, hamburger-based minestrone. Enjoy, my brothers and sisters. *.*
one of Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio's sandwich'es from his Wichcraft restaurant. Add lettuce, spinach or anything else you like but its great plain. caramelizing the onions takes time but worth it. (you can also do a double batch and freeze half for another time)
This broccoli cheese soup is the best that I have ever tasted! I had to beg for over a year to get the recipe. It is not a smooth soup, but more chunky and hearty, thus the chowder title. This is a great recipe for dinner, brunch or even a dinner party.
This is our own creation of homemade soup which is ready to eat in about forty minutes. The flavor is superb, and if you like, you can add just about any variation of vegetables you have on hand for an even more robust stew-like dish. Love their soup? Don't want the uppity atmosphere? Here you go! Makes about a gallon.
It was great for something different. My family loves soup but have exhausted all of our recipes. We loved it, tell me what you think.
I found this on a "secret recipe" forum. Chef's name is Robert Metz.
I've seen several Tuscan Soup recipes out there, so here's mine. I have a penchant for spicy Italian, but please feel free to sub milder ingredients, if that's your thing. I don't know why it would be, but if that floats your boat... Serve with some warm crusty bread and enjoy!
This is very close to the Olive Garden soup. There's another recipe on the web, which was the basis of this recipe, however, I have changed it to use less cream. Still tastes good! I did end up using a little cornstarch to thicken. I guess you could sub heavy cream for the half-and-half to make it a little thicker without using cornstarch. The gnocchi is usually in the spaghetti section of the grocery store.
One of St. Louis's favorite soup recipes was recently printed in the Post-Dispatch. I remember going to St. Louis when I was young and my family going into the department store's restaurant for this famous soup. Enjoy! Famous-Barr's French Onion Soup
