It is turning cold here in AK fast, so in desperate need of a warming, filling dinner in a hurry, I threw this hearty soup together with ingredients I had on hand. DH absolutely loved it and requested that it become a regular part of our winter soup rotation :)
Original recipe from a former colleague. This is so good with either left over chicken or or turkey or with meat purchased especially for the recipe. I added a specific amount of pepper and a pinch of dried tarragon. A good soup for kids to make and enjoy!
This is a fabulous, wholesome and tasty chicken noodle soup that is the perfect comfort food in the fall. Borne out of my search for the perfect vegetarian noodle soup, here's the version for poultry-lovers! This is one of the best noodle soup recipes, in my opinion, and I love how simple it is to make. I made it by blending a few good chicken and non-chicken noodle recipes with my own and doing plenty of taste-testing. Check out my Homestyle Noodle Soup for Vegans/Vegetarians as well!
This is absolutely my favorite soup! It's rich and thick and comforting - and yet it's healthy!! I adapted this recipe from Kraft by using a different cheese and less water. This soup is delicious! Enjoy!
This recipe came from a friend of mine. I changed it a bit, I have a habit of browning my hamburger in bacon grease after I browned my bacon when any recipes call for both. My kids hate veggies, I made this one week-end for me and DH to have for a meal and left overs the next day. My college kids came home (3 of them) they asked me what was in the pot and boom, not a tsp. was left after we ate. It wasn't even lunch time yet!!! Oh, my teen son saw them eat it and he joined in also!!!! They still hate veggies but not this stuff!
This recipe is from an email that I received from the www.recipe4living.com website. "Buffalo meat is an excellent alternative to beef because it is much leaner and has less fat. If you can't find buffalo meat, you can use ground turkey or chicken as well." From: "The Lazy Gourmet Rides the Range" by Suzi Ashby
I got this from one of the Gooseberry cookbooks, I can't remember which one.
But it is so simple and quick. I have altered the recipe many ways; using cheddar instead of white cheddar, using fat free milk instead of cream, adding an extra bouillon cube. Honestly this has never been a bad recipe!
There is a running joke in my family, that when you are hung over, you need a big bowl of Hangover Soup! lol...And it's true! No matter how sick you feel, you always feel better after a bowl. or two! ;)
I love this, if you haven't tried it you need to. In Cincinnati the true enthusiasts have their Chili 1 to 5 ways: 1. Plain 2."Two Way" - Spaghetti & Chili 3."Three Way" - Chili, Spaghetti, and Cheddar Cheese 4."Four Way" - Chili, Spaghetti, Cheddar Cheese, and Onions 5."Five Way" - Chili, Spaghetti, Cheddar Cheese, Onions and Kidney Beans
