This recipe is from my DH's mother. I am not from the South and had never heard of this before. Also posting it here for safe keeping. This is great on white bread for a quick sandwich or with crackers.
There are no words!! My hubby and I eat this warm it is so good - we just can't wait for the potatoes to cool before adding the dressing to them! This was originally a Bon Appetit/Gourmet recipe that has been tweaked to our family's liking! Cooking time includes time for the potatoes to cool.
Sloppy joes seems to be one of those foods that each family has their own special recipe. This is my sister's recipe. I like it because it is made from common ingredients that I always have in the kitchen and it can easily be changed. You want sweeter..add more sugar. You don't like peppers, leave them out. It is a simple basic recipe, play with it and make it your own individual recipe.
This recipe can either be made with your favorite macaroni shape pasta or you can use for a tasty pototo salad. I got this recipe from the Southern Magazine years ago when I first started cooking. I just changed the elbow macaroni to the ditalini (small tube shape) macaroni and added dill relish.
I learned this recipe from my Grandmother. She had 13 kids so she needed to make things stretch. This is a really good comfort food. I don't measure when I cook I just throw it in until it seems right. I will do my best to measure it out right.
This recipe is an adaption of one that I found awhile back. It has quickly become one of DH's favorites. It can be made several hours in advance and kept in the refrigerator. Please note that the cooking time is the minimum recommended time to chill the salad before serving.

This super easy crock pot sandwich recipe cooks in just 4-6 hours and is a perfect solution for lunches at home.
You could substitute the frozen EASY MEATBALLS(posted separately)recipe for the 40 meatballs.
This is a great weeknight dinner. It is even quicker to throw together if you saute the bacon, mushrooms, & onions earlier in the day. If you don't have mushrooms or bacon on hand, you can substitute other veggies or ham. It's very versatile!
The first time I saw this salad at a family gathering I thought "yuck, canned vegetables"! Being polite I tasted it and was pleasantly shocked at how good it was. Believe me if you make this and people try it you will have to give the recipe because everyone will want it.
This recipe seems like it takes a long time to make but it is very easy to make and is so worth it.
Mr. Food recipe from Simple Southern Favorites. I made this for a quick lunch when a neighbor stopped by and it was huge hit. Easy and wonderful like most of his recipes. Can be used as a salad, sandwich filling or as a spread.
