    Sorbet and Ice Cream

These look like good ones to try, though I haven't yet.

Good enough to be served at Ben & Jerry's. Use fresh, good-quality ingredients. I love to make this during strawberry season. Plan to refrigerate berries in sugar for 1 hour before making ice cream.

This is a very rich and chocolatey sorbet. It is best to use a mild flavor Dutch process powder, but you can use regular also. From Cuisine at Home.

    Recipe #96202

This is a light, but intensely flavored sorbet that is very refreshing when the weather is hot. (Cooking time = freezing time & is approximate.)

This recipe was posted in answer to a message board request. It was one of many recipes that came with my ice cream machine. Cinnamon ice cream is yummy on warm apple pie, baked apples, bread pudding or just in a bowl by itself, on a hot night. Freezing time for this recipe is 30 minutes in my electric ice cream machine. Time may vary according to the manufactures directions for your ice cream maker. Cook/Prep times do not include the 1 to 2 hour chilling time needed before processing/freezing the cooked mixture. Note: The egg yolk gives the finished product a better texture.

Posted by request. Recipe is from the recipe book that came with my ice cream machine. Prep time includes 1 hour chilling and 1/2 hour freezing times.

A nice cold treat. Cooking time is maximum freezing time.

This was always my father's favorite flavour of ice cream, and there is nothing tastier or better than fresh homemade icecream. This goes great with large wedges of apple walnut pie,a nd if you are feeling really decadent, butterscotch sauce poured over all.

    Lemon lovers unite!!!

    Recipe #97620

I got this recipe from Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream book. It is the reason I own an ice cream maker. Every year we go to Gaffney, SC and pick up a huge basket of peaches. This is the perfect way to use some of them. The cooking time listed includes time to let the peaches sit in the fridge.

Another goodie from my gourmet aunt! Sooo good on a hot summer night, Valentine's dinner, or brunch. Prep time does not include chilling syrup or using ice-cream maker, as that varies.

    Recipe #78610

This comes from my Healthy Gourmet Cookbook and I have not yet tried this recipe. Let me know if it is any good!

    Recipe #75844

I believe there are 2 kinds of people in the world, chocolate addicts and lemon lovers. My lemon lover went wild for this. If you don't have an ice cream maker, it may work to freeze the liquid sorbet and then put it into a food processor or blender; haven't tried that, but it's a thought. Cook time is minimum chill time.

This is delicious with vanilla ice cream. The flavor is intense, pure apricot. From Gourmet. An ice cream maker is necessary for this. The times do not include chilling or freezing.

I got this out of a holiday cookie collection. I thought that they sounded good but I had no idea how good until they were done. The combination of chewy chocolate cookies and mint is hard to beat!

Every August the peach tree in our garden is bursting with huge, juicy peaches. I make this at least once a week every summer once that tree gives up its fruit, for family desserts and as gifts for friends.
