This is an awesome reduced fat, no sugar added pie that no one would be able to tell it was healthy. I've served this many times to family members and they never knew. Each serving is: 1 Starch, 1 Fruit and 1 Fat. I hope you enjoy this Joanna Lund recipe. (Prep time includes chill time)
This is one of those recipes where it looks like you really worked hard, but it uses convience foods so it is really easy. I like easy. I didn't add the chill time to the stats, but it should sit in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours so that it sets really well.
A co-worker brought this pastry recipe to work one morning during the holidays. It just melts in your mouth and the flavors are so wonderful. If she hadn't given me a copy of the recipe, I never would have guessed you use Mountain Dew. This will quickly become one of your favorites! February 2004, I just wanted to update this recipe. I've been using Splenda and Diet Sierra Mist in place of sugar and Mountain Dew. It still tastes the same.
We have one of these almost everyday! 1 WW point and so easy and so good! I use Diet Sierra Mist, but you can also substitute Diet Sprite or Diet 7-Up and I'd think you'd get the same result. Also, we use the frozen smoothie blend fruit, but you can use anything you'd like! Enjoy.
This is THE BEST cake!! It is so good! At potlucks and get-togethers, it always disappears quickly. I love the light lemon flavor and the moistness of the cake. I got the recipe from my mother. It's always been a family favorite.
