I got this Buffalo chicken dip recipe from a respiratory therapist at the hospital where I work. He brought it to a party and everyone asked for the recipe. I appreciate all the reviews that have been written about this recipe since I posted it so long ago. I see more and more that people are making it with freshly cooked chicken - great idea. I also like the idea of using rotisserie chicken. The original recipe used canned chicken for convenience, but I agree with all of you that the fresher meat tastes better. Barb
P.S. Thank you to everyone who has reviewed this recipe. I love it, too, and it makes me feel so good that so many of you have enjoyed it. Thanks again.
I used to love these when I was younger, I could eat two in one sitting! I haven't had fast food in a year or two, but these taste like I remember Taco Bell's quesadillas tasting. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Middle Eastern style spread for Pita bread. This recipe is very tasty and easy to make. This is a very popular dish in this region. The base is usually Chickpeas and Tahini, but the flavor added to the base vary widely from one chef to the next. Tahini is a sesame paste, you can usually find it in the Mediterranean section of your grocery store.
This is my sister's dip. She got the recipe while backpacking in Europe a few years ago. She is now forced to make it at every party she has. People smell it cooking and stand drooling by the oven until it comes out! (Many have not been able to wait for the cooling part and burned their mouths to get to it first). You might have to make 2 portions.
**NOTE: Please CHECK the sodium content before you choose a ranch dressing mix, because it will affect the flavor! Some people have complained it is "too salty". Please also make sure you are using only a 1 ounce packet; there are other sizes from various manufacturers. Too much mix throws off the balance of flavors. My sister and I always use the Hidden Valley Ranch Original and we do not have any problems with it :)
You can also substitute half the sour cream for prepared Ranch Dressing and skip the dry mix. It will come out a bit wetter.
This corn dip has been a really big hit for me. Its easy to make and everyone will ask you for the recipe when you take it to parties or have one of you own. I can't ever escape a party without someone stopping me and asking how to make that "awesome" corn dish. Great for a Picnic too!!
The Mediterranean version of the ever popular Mexican layered dip. Instead of using garlic salt, I mix a large clove of pressed garlic with the hummus. Serve with toasted pita, flat bread or tortilla chips.
This is the Quick Soft Breadsticks recipe with a modified cooking technique for the best Pretzel Rolls ever! The dough only has to rise ONCE for 20-30 min.--so easy. I serve them with Sauerkraut Chowder for a Bavarian theme dinner. Everyone loves these!
I take this dip to almost every gathering I go to.....and have never had to haul any of it home! It's never had a real name, but when people ask what's in it?/how do you make it?, the response is always the same: "It's so easy. Five things and stir!".
You can actually add additional items like diced jalapenos, sliced black olives, etc to make it your own.....but the basic recipe is always a hit! I use the extra hot Rotel to kick it up, but for those who prefer milder flavor, you can use the regular or even 'mild' Rotel. I DO highly recommend Rotel (rather than any other brand of diced tomatoes w/chilis)...there's just something about the flavor that's very unique. Enjoy!
